Kingdom Hearts x Ninjago part 1

This is a Kingdom Hearts x Ninjago crossover idea that I had, but never got past them leaving Ninjago.

Third person's P.O.V

"That jump you did was pretty good, Kai," Cole complimented the red-clad hothead.

"'Pretty good'? It was awesome!" the red ninja, Kai, corrected.

The two ninja were coming back to the monastery after a day out of racing in their vehicles, mainly in the Sea of Sand. They were, at the moment, talking about when Kai and his vehicle backflipped over a sand dune in midair.

"......You got me there," Cole chuckled as they drove through the streets of New Ninjago City.

Citizens smiled and waved at them, and the ninja returned the gesture as they drove past.

A scream suddenly erupted from nearby. The two ninja narrowed their eyes and drove off towards where it came from.

No one will take over this city if the ninja has anything to say about it.

The ninja pulled their hoods over their heads, as they were down heading back to the monastery, and turned a corner into an alley.

Their eyes widened. They've never seen anything like this before.

There were a few creatures that appeared to have a short, impish stature, having crooked limbs, and a pair of spindly antennae atop their heads. Their bodies appear to be comprised entirely of an inky black material, save for the two tiny yellow eyes on their heads.

There are also more humanoid creatures that wear metallic helmets like those of a medieval knight. They also have curly-tipped shoes and four digits on each hand, Each digit ends in a sharp red claw. On their chest, was a heart, the bottom ending in a fleur-de-lis, and a spiky 'x' inside the heart.

Cole and Kai have never battled this kind of enemy before. What do they do?

Kai noticed the child that was cornered by them. They should get her out of here first, and then deal with the enemy.

"Hey! Blackjacks!" Kai yelled to the creatures, but it had no effect.

"Great. How do we get their attention away from the girl?" Cole wondered.

"Attack them, duh," Kai rolled his eyes, running toward the creatures to fight them.

Cole shook his head at his impulsiveness to jump into battles but followed Kai anyway, hands clenched into fists.

Cole punched the small creatures with the antennae left and right, away from where they were before.

While Kai was blasting his fire onto the knights, he was surprised by the fact that it doesn't do any damage.

"Uh, Cole?! Are you having better luck?" Kai asked.

"Ugh....not really! They have to have a weakness somewhere though!" Cole yelled back.

Kai looked in the direction of the girl that was once surrounded by these creatures, but now had none of them around here.

"Hey, kid. You have to get out of here. Find shelter," Kai spoke.

"Thank you, ninja," she thanked them both for the help before running away.

"Okay, now what?" Kai asked, turning back to the one-sided fight.

"Let's go to the monastery," Cole suggested.

"And leave like chickens? No way!" Kai protested.

"It's a tactical retreat. Maybe the others will have better luck than we are having right now," Cole explained.
