She went to bed with a distracted mind. Thinking about the girls made it impossible to concentrate on her studies.
Hoping she could focus and retain everything for the exam, she set an alarm to wake up at 4:00 AM. When the alarm rang, she sat up and began reading through the concise notes she had prepared, aiming to review all the material without wasting precious time.
"Whew! All finished," she sighed. "A shower right now would feel so refreshing." She glanced at the clock; it was already 6:00 AM.
She took a shower and sat down for breakfast while the other girls were still asleep. Just as a wave of loneliness hit her while eating alone, Sana emerged from her room.
"You woke up early?" Sana greeted her, taking a sip of mineral water.
"Yeah, this is the best time for me to study. My exams start today." Jeongyeon touched her lips, her eyebrows furrowing as she processed what she had learned earlier.
Yet, to Sana, that simple gesture made her look effortlessly cool and attractive—especially with her lips glistening slightly from the omelet, a cup of her favorite iced Americano held in her hand.
"Oh." The purple-haired girl stared at Jeongyeon’s lips, her mouth slightly agape.
The intense stare made Jeongyeon uncomfortable. She stood up to walk toward her room, but Sana darted ahead, closing the bedroom door before Jeongyeon could even blink.
"Is there something you need in my room?" Jeongyeon asked, startled by how quickly Sana had moved to pin her against the door.
"I just feel sad and lonely. You said I could lean on you," Sana murmured, gazing at her with sad eyes as she softly stroked the girl crush’s cheek.
"You know... I was drunk at the time. I was just talking nonsense." Sana toyed with her fingers, feeling slightly intimidated.
"Drunk, yes, but you still remember. So it was true."
Sana leaned in to kiss Jeongyeon's gray-tinted lips, but the taller girl immediately pushed her away.
"You're so cruel! Do you know how much I’ve suffered since we kissed that time? I haven't been able to stop thinking about the touch of your lips," Sana said, her eyes welling with tears.
Jeongyeon froze in place, staring at Sana with a pang of guilt.
"So... let me kiss you, okay?" Sana stepped closer, and Jeongyeon gave a silent, submissive nod.
Sana pressed her against the wall and kissed her passionately, wrapping both arms around Jeongyeon's neck and tracing her bottom lip. Jeongyeon simply surrendered; the purple-haired girl was overwhelmingly dominant.
Suddenly, Jeongyeon gasped as Sana did something entirely unexpected.
"Where on earth are you touching?" Jeongyeon blurted out. Sana's hand had brushed against the hard contour beneath her sweatpants, instantly rousing her hidden secret.
"Whoa... so it was true. What I felt during that first kiss incident," Sana murmured. She lifted her hand, staring at it in mild awe while Jeongyeon watched her, on high alert.
Does she mean she knows my secret? Jeongyeon thought frantically.
"What?" Jeongyeon asked, her cheeks flushing red.
Sana looked at her mischievously. "You know what? You're wrong if you thought I was surprised back then just because it was my first kiss. I’ve kissed people before. What actually surprised me was this." She touched the spot again. Jeongyeon suppressed a moan, paralyzed by the touch that left her feeling weak. "I felt your physical secret pressing against me."
"Oh, you're getting hard just from a simple touch." Sana gave it a gentle squeeze.
"Ah..." Jeongyeon covered her mouth quickly. "Please don't tell anyone," she gasped out.
"I won't tell a soul—as long as we can keep having these sessions and explore other fun things together," Sana whispered with a naughty smirk and a wink.
"Fine... we can," Jeongyeon gritted out through her teeth. She really is a sly, wicked snake, Jeongyeon thought to herself.
Sana wrapped her arms around Jeongyeon's neck, leaning her full weight against her and grinding softly against her length.
"Oh, Jeongyeon..." Sana whispered directly into her ear, letting out a low soft sigh.
What on earth is she doing? Jeongyeon wondered. It feels so warm and intense.
Jeongyeon bit back a moan, unwilling to admit how much she was actually enjoying it. Sweat trickled down her neck. The room felt stiflingly hot despite the air conditioner running and the chill of early winter outside.
A low groan escaped Jeongyeon's throat as Sana continued her rhythmic movements.
"Are you enjoying this?" Sana murmured softly. "You're so hard... I wonder how this would feel inside me?"
Whoa, stop the dirty talk, Jeongyeon thought, closing her eyes and pressing a firm kiss onto Sana's lips to quiet her down.
"Jeongyeon, wake up! You have an exam today!" Nayeon's voice suddenly boomed from outside the room.
Sana quickly covered her own mouth. "Don't worry, Unnie! I'm already trying to wake her up!" she called out.
Oh, shoot! I almost forgot! Jeongyeon cursed internally.
Sana hugged her tightly, bringing her movements to a halt. "I hope we can do this more often, darling," she whispered, resting her head against Jeongyeon's shoulder.
Jeongyeon let out a tiny snort, amused to hear Sana call her 'darling.' Sana leaned in to kiss her again, playful biting Jeongyeon's lip a little too hard.
"Ouch!" Jeongyeon winced.
"Why are you laughing?" Sana asked, feigning annoyance.
"I wasn't," Jeongyeon denied quickly.
"Well, I have to head to campus now, and so do you. See ya!" Sana said with a bright grin.
"Hey, you can't just leave me like this!" Jeongyeon protested, looking down at her still-aroused state as Sana slipped out of the room.
"Please calm down, buddy," she muttered to herself. "At least I can still make it to campus, even if my test scores take a hit today. Why did that sly girl have to do this right now?"
Mumbling to herself, she quickly got dressed and gathered her belongings.
It was too early in the morning to be in such a terrible mood, but she simply couldn't hide her irritation. Her mind was so consumed by thoughts of that sly girl that she felt entirely unprepared for her test. She brushed past the other girls in the dining area without a word, ignoring them completely.
"Jeongyeon-ah!" Nayeon called out, poking her head out the window of her parked car. But the younger girl kept walking, tuning out the older woman.
"Yoo Jeongyeon!" Nayeon yelled, slowly rolling the car alongside her.
"What?" Jeongyeon turned around, frowning.
"You're going to miss the bus. Get in."
Jeongyeon checked her wristwatch; she was indeed too late to catch her usual ride. She glanced at her elder companion once more. Nayeon offered a warm, reassuring smile, gesturing for her to hurry inside.
With a quiet sigh, Jeongyeon climbed into the passenger seat beside the cheerful girl.
"Are you ready for your test? Because if you get a bad score, I'll—"
Jeongyeon placed her palm gently over Nayeon's lips to hush her.
"Stop talking, please. Just wake me up when we're close to campus." She gave a weary glare, turned toward the window, and rested her forehead against the glass to snatch a brief nap.
"Kids these days..." Nayeon grumbled fondly, watching her sleep. She probably pulled an all-nighter studying, Nayeon thought, a tender smile touching her lips.
Throughout exam week, Jeongyeon tried her best to distance herself from the group so she could focus on her studies, but her efforts were in vain. The colder she acted, the clingier the girls became—especially Nayeon, Sana, and Momo, while Mina quietly observed them from a distance.
Since midterms ended early each day, Jeongyeon was usually the first to arrive back at the dorm. She collapsed onto the living room couch, finally able to breathe a sigh of relief on the last day of exams. Now, all she had to do was wait a week for the results.
"Home sweet home," she murmured, savoring the rare stillness of the apartment.
"We're home!" Sana announced as she stepped through the door alongside Mina, Nayeon, and Momo. They had asked Nayeon to pick them up after their practical performances, far too exhausted to walk to the bus stop.
Momo and Sana flopped onto the couch beside Jeongyeon, while Mina and Nayeon headed to the kitchen for water.
"I'm so tired," Sana sighed, resting her head heavily on Jeongyeon's shoulder.
"Go rest in your own room," Jeongyeon nudged her gently, but Sana held fast to her arm, keeping her head firmly in place.
Momo sat on Jeongyeon's other side. "How did your day go?" she asked, gently cupping the side of Jeongyeon's face to draw her gaze.
"It was alright. The test wasn't too hard, though I'm not sure about my final grade," Jeongyeon replied with a faint smile and a slight shake of her head. "How was your stage performance?"
"I'm so relieved! The judges actually gave me a round of applause," Momo said, her face lighting up with a brilliant smile.
"Congratulations!" Jeongyeon playfully tousled Momo's hair.
"Hey!" Momo laughed, retaliating by messing up Jeongyeon's hair with both hands. They giggled together, leaning their foreheads against each other and temporarily ignoring Sana, who remained perched on Jeongyeon's shoulder with a pout.
"Good for you guys... I actually made a mistake during my performance," Sana said softly, wrapping her arms around Jeongyeon's neck and resting her forehead against the side of her head. Momo remained leaned in on the other side.
"It's okay, Sana. As long as you pass the midterm, that's all that matters," Jeongyeon reassured her, stroking her hair softly.
Sana beamed, taking the opportunity to steal a quick kiss on Jeongyeon's cheek. Jeongyeon instinctively turned her head away to the right, only to receive a soft peck on the other cheek from Momo.
Trapped between the two, she received playful pecks no matter which way she turned.
"Aaargh! Someone save me, please!" Jeongyeon yelled playfully.
From the kitchen, Nayeon watched the scene unfold with a smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. Nearby, Mina directed a icy, silent glare toward the couch—a clear visual warning of “don't touch my girl”—though no one seemed to notice.
"Oh, stop exaggerating! It's just friendly affection between friends," Sana teased, lightly tapping Jeongyeon's shoulder.
"Oh, right. Sure," Jeongyeon raised an eyebrow playfully.
Momo and Sana shifted back slightly, turning their attention toward the TV screen. Jeongyeon stole a quick glance at them, shaking her head internally. These girls are so strange, kissing me just for fun... I really hope none of us ever fall in love with each other.
