Third Person POV
"You do realize that this is a waste of valuable time? That there are more important things we could be doing right now? Like training?" Sasuke mutters quietly at his two team mates, silently wondering how they managed to rope him into this crazy scheme of theirs to spy on their sensei.
"Come on! Don't pretend you aren't curious about what our sensei does when we aren't around!" Naruto argues, and Sakura immediately shushes him.
"Maybe you can consider it a mission Sasuke-kun?" The young kunoichi asks with a blush, trying to find a way to convince the young Uchiha to stay.
"Yeah! A stealth mission! Not only will we learn some stuff about him, but we'll get to prove to that old man that we are good at stealth!" Naruto argues with a triumphant grin, and despite his prior hesitation, Sasuke can't help but agree that is a form of training...not to mention one upping his teacher is tempting.
"Tch, fine..." He agrees, and they start their 'mission' completely unaware that someone had overheard the whole thing.
Reader POV
This should be interesting...
I think to myself as I watch the genin start following my boyfriend silently, completely oblivious to the fact that I'm following them myself. I knew from Kakashi that they were quite the handful, but I had no idea that they were this devious. So, instead of calling them out, I decide to just see what they do, and play the ninja version of hide and seek.
First is the hokage tower, then the bookstore where he buys those odd Icha Icha books of his. They groan at the sight as I stifle a chuckle, no doubt they probably thought that he would be more interesting in his off time, but to be truthful they haven't seen anything yet.
Next was the ramen shop, which got a complaint out of Naruto when he realized he was hungry and couldn't go in...after he was scolded by both Sakura and a now much more intrigued Sasuke of course.
After a while, they seem to be getting bored with Kakashi's seemingly mundane routine, so I decide to spice things up and give them a surprise.
Dropping down quietly from the rooftops, I casually make my way over to Kakashi with a gigantic grin on my face.
"Hey Kakashi!" I call out to him, waving as he turns around to face me. The mask can't hide the obvious smile on his face as I come closer, and as he casts a quick glance up to where his students are, I can tell he's in on what I'm thinking already.
"(Y/n)...it's been a while, how was your mission?" He asks.
"It went well, though I have to admit that it lasted much longer than I expected." I answer honestly, my ears picking up the muted whispers of the rookie ninja arguing over who I could be.
Let's give them an answer, shall we?
"That occasionally is the case, you never know what kind of things can pop up at the last minute." He replies, a small smirk on his face as he figures out what I'm thinking just by eye contact.
"In speaking of last minute...I was wondering if you wanted to go somewhere right now? You know, just the two of us?" I imply as step closer, trailing a finger down his vest as I give him a playful smirk...knowing those kids are probably losing their minds right now.
"Our usual pastime I assume?" He drawls, obviously enjoying both flirting with me and tormenting his nosy students.
"Of course, it's our favorite pastime...isn't it?" I purr back, leaning in to kiss him over his mask, but just before I do, the sound of someone yelling in frustration snaps our attention upwards.
"Gahhh! I can't take it anymore!" Naruto's voice cries out just as he drops down from the roof, he is immediately followed by Sakura and Sasuke.
"You dummy! You got us exposed!!" Sakura scolds as she hits him on the head, which causes the poor boy to cry out in pain.
"Owwww!!"
"Tch....dobe." Sasuke mutters under his breath.
"Don't blame him, I actually knew you were following me from the start." Kakashi says, and they look towards us with surprise.
"Both of us actually, I was following you guys up to this point." I continue, chuckling at their expressions. "So I think you all need to work on your stealth more."
They all stare for a moment before Naruto points at me accusingly.
"Does that mean you were just pretending to like him?!" He asks, and I grin.
"Not at all...we're actually a couple."
Their stunned faces are absolutely priceless, but before they can say anything, I feel myself get scooped into Kakashi's arms.
"If you'll excuse us kids, we have couple things to do." He announces before he suddenly jumps up to the rooftops, and as we laugh at each other while heading to our favorite place, we hear Naruto cry out:
"YOU HAVE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME!!!"
