Elaine starts making her way to the nearest border so she can try to get to France so she can at least be one step closer to getting to the U.S. A soldier comes towards her, and he explains that everyone is needed back at base. She goes along with him since there's no other option; she has to be soldier. in the truck as he is driving them back to base he starts to make conversation. "Where are you from" Elaine tells him she grew up in Berlin. She asks him the same he says In Hanover. She asks his name "Theo.. and you?" Elaine panicked she hadn't thought about the fact she can't be called Elaine or else her cover would be blown. She said "Uh.. The name is James." Elaine and Theo shake hands and he looks at her and says "Welcome soldier!" in a friendly tone. They reach base and the General brings everyone in to discuss the plans for battle. The General explains that they are heading to poland to strike. He then explains we are going to attack tonight. After the hours of planning and stocking up we head to our bunks and prepare to head out. Night arrives they head out into the trucks and head to Poland. Elaine sits next to Theo on the ride and talked for awhile. They eventually fell asleep; hours later They arrived there we moved as fast as lightning and everyone began to attack as planned. It feels as a war had begun.
