Elaine looks to see if any guards are watching, and then she sneaks over to Theo. They both look at each other in relief and happiness. They sit down and lean in to talk that way the guards can't hear what they are saying.
"What happened in the room are you ok?!" Theo worried
"Yea i'm fine... a baby was shot in our room that's what happened." Elaine said with hesitation
"Jesus christ the things these people do... I know where we are now we are in-." Before he could finish the sentence Elaine finishes it for him.
"In Mauthausen camp.. I know, and I also know why we are here. Do you think there's more places like this?" Elaine asked
"I hope not... one of the guards asked about you and I told them you are my wife so you have to go with it. I think I can find a way out of here, but I need time." He told her
She nods in agreement she gets the unused napkin and hands it to him "we can use this to plan out our escape"
"I'll think of something tonight and we will discuss it at dinner tomorrow ok?" Theo said
Elaine nods in agreement Soon after the bell goes off, and they head back to their bunks for the night. They are able to sleep knowing they have each other.
