Optimistic In The Dark

Now you may think

That it’s quite hard

To be optimistic

In the dark

I may have lost

My battle against darkness

Bt what,

at first,

you may not see

Is the loss did

in fact

                                 benefit me

Enveloped by darkness

That’s numbing away my pain

I’m being drained

Of thought and emotion

As it shuts down

        my heart and brain

I’ve forgotten my parents

gone in a blast

But the scars your thorns gave me,

    I’ll never get past
