"Ok sounds good. You guys take one of the trucks and I got some bags for you to fill up. We mainly need food and get some medicine if you find any." Jake said
"Alright, you guys be out there in five I'll get the truck running." David said
David walked outside and popped the hood and reconnected the battery. They disconnect the batteries to stop potential thieves. They all came out with bags and got in the truck. They drove a few miles away to the nearest town and it looked mostly unlooted. They walked into a local camping store hoping to find some MRE's and other supplies like guns and ammo. They walked into the dark store and used flashlights to see where they were going.
"David and I are gonna go look at the weapons. You two go find some food. Keep you're eyes out for zeds. We'll meet back here in 10 minutes." Colby said
"Ok be careful." Debra said
"Same to you." Colby said
Colby and David walked through the dark with their knives drawn. The arrived at the guns in the back of the store and started loading their bags with ammo and guns. David walked back to the bows and grabbed him a bow, some arrows, and a quiver. Colby zipped up his bag and swung it to his back and looked at David.
"Really a bow? Against zombies?" Colby said smiling
"It's silent and plus I can reuse my ammo a few times." David said
"You got a point." Colby said
That's when they heard Debra scream, they both ran over there and shined their flashlights and saw a group of about 20 zeds. They had ahold of Debra and started chewing chunks out of her neck and sides.

Mark ran into the group and started stabbing and eventually they surrounded him. David pulled an arrow from his quiver and loaded into his bow.
"Their gone. Let's go while they're distracted." Colby said
"You're right." David said looking down
They both ran out the door and loaded the guns into the truck. David was trying to use the cb radio to get ahold of Jake, but nothing was going through. That's when the door to the store opened and Mark walked out. They both ran over to him, he was covered in blood, shaking and had tears going down his face.
"We thought you were-" David said getting cut off
"Dead? I am." Mark said bringing his arm up and showing a bite mark.
David looked at Colby and back at the bite.
"We don't know how long it takes. I've never been around someone who's been bit." Colby said
"Well I have, It's not long. I just want to spend my last few hours with Debra. Tell the kids I love them and that if it wasn't for them I probably wouldn't have even made it this long." Mark said
"We will." David said
They turned around and walked back to the truck and got in. They drove back to the compound and walked inside.
"Where's mom and dad?" Katie asked
David just looked down at the ground.
Katie started crying and Sean who was on the other side of the room came to comfort her and also started crying.
"He said he loved you, and if it wasn't for you two he probably wouldn't have even made it this far." Colby said
"Thanks for relaying the message. We just need a minute." Sean said
"Take all the time you need." Jake said joining the conversation.
Sean and Katie walked to the their room.
"All we got was guns and ammo. We split up to get stuff done a little quicker." David said
"Better than nothing, but it sucks that they're not around anymore." Jake said
"We'll go back out tomorrow, see if we can scrounge up anything." Colby said
