Chapter 16

"Was it really necessary to make us strip to our boxers?" Colby asked
"Yeah, it's protocol." Steve said
"Weird protocol." Jake said
"Follow Henry he'll take you guys to your houses." Steve said
They walked out to the houses following Henry.
"We could only get three so you guys can share how you want." Henry said
"Ok thanks." Katie said
"If you need anything I'm around." Henry said and walked away
Colby and David took one house, Katie and Sean took another, and Jake got one to himself.
Colby and David walked into their house and looked around, they got to the bedroom and sat on the bed.
"Soft bed." Colby said
"Good." David said smirking.
"Stop it." Colby said jokingly shoving David
David lay back and pulled out the lucky coin that Colby gave him for his tenth birthday and flipped it and put it on the table.
"You still have that?" Colby said laying back with David
"It's kept me alive this long, and helped me find you." David said
"I went to your house looking for you back in Charlotte and noticed it was gone, that's how I knew you made it out." Colby said
"Well I guess we better go get to know everyone." David said sitting up.
Colby grabbed David's leg close to his crotch.
"We don't have to." Colby said
David rolled over on top of Colby straddling him. David looked into Colby's eyes and kissed him.
"Yeah we do. Get up." David said getting up
"You're such a tease." Colby said getting up
"I know." David said smiling.
They walked outside and saw the Baseball diamond where Ryan and Jordan are playing at. They walked over there and leaned against the fence and watched them hit the ball and soon Jake, Katie, and Sean showed up.
"Just like old times?" David said to Colby
"I forgot how much I missed playing baseball." Colby said
"You guys just gonna sit there and watch or we gonna play?" Jordan said
Jordan and Ryan walked over to the fence.
"I'm Ryan, and this trash talker is Jordan." Ryan said
"Okay, Colby, Jake, and I will be a team and you, Katie, Sean, and Ryan are a team." David said
"Why are you guys volunteering to be the little team?" Jordan asked
"David and I played high school baseball and won the championship so we figured we'd make it fair." Colby said
"Ok let's see if you can hold onto that high horse." Ryan said laughing
They played a few rounds and Colby, David, and Jake won.
"Good game boys." Sean said
"It was fun." Jordan said
"Nice to meet you guys." David said
"Same to you." Ryan said.
Everyone left and it got dark and Ryan and Jordan were still at the field sitting on a wall talking.
"That was fun." Jordan said
"Yeah it was." Ryan said
"You know you're the only friend I have in here." Jordan said
"I find that hard to believe." Ryan said
"Well, where I work with my dad we have more stuff then everyone else like the game console and other stuff like that that. So everyone looks at me like that snobby rich kid and that not what I am." Jordan said
"No you're a good person, and I'm happy to be your friend." Ryan said
"Thanks man." Jordan said
"It's getting late, I'll walk you home." Ryan said
They both walked to Jordan's house.
"You sure you don't wanna come in?" Jordan asked standing in the doorway
"I'm gonna get some sleep, I'll see you tomorrow." Ryan said
"Ok goodnight." Jordan said
"Goodnight." Ryan said
Ryan started walking away and then he was hit in the head with something and blacked out.

"I don't know if this place is safe." Sean said to Katie
"Just give it a chance.  Jake trusts it." Katie said
"Why does it all of a sudden matter what Jake thinks?" Sean asked raising his voice a little
"I just trust him that's all get some sleep." Sean said
"I'm gonna talk to Jordan tomorrow about the murders here." Sean said

Ryan woke up tied to a chair in a small room, Steve was leaning up against the wall.
"About time you woke up." Steve said
"What the hell is this?" Ryan asked
"I know you did it." Steve said
"Did what?" Ryan asked
"You killed those people." Steve said
"I haven't touched anyone." Ryan said
Steve punched Ryan in the face. Ryan spit out some blood.
"Just admit it so I can take care of you." Steve said
"You're fucking delusional." Ryan said
"And you're a fucking killer." Steve said
"I already told you it wasn't me." Ryan said
Steve punched him again and then the door opened and it was Pete.
"What's going on in here?" Pete asked
"It was him, he killed them." Steve said
"He's fucking crazy." Ryan said spitting out more blood
"He's just a fucking kid Steve, he didn't do it." Pete said walking to untie Ryan. Once Ryan was untied he lunged at Steve but Pete held him back.
"Listen if you two want to stay here, you're just gonna have to act like this never happened. If you don't I'll have to throw you out these people have already been through enough." Pete said
Pete let Ryan go and Ryan walked out and to Jordan's house. He knocked on the door and Jordan opened it up.
"Oh my god what happened to your face?" Jordan asked
"I got jumped." Ryan said
"Do you think it was the killer?" Jordan asked
"Could've been I didn't see his face." Ryan said
"Come in and I'll get you some ice." Jordan said
Jordan and Ryan went up to his room and Jordan was holding ice on Ryan's jaw.
"Have you seen my dad?" Jordan asked
"Nope haven't seen him." Ryan said
They walked over and sat on Jordan's bed.
"You can sleep here tonight if you want." Jordan said
"Thank you." Ryan said
They both lay back in the bed and went to sleep.
