Chapter 26

Kaiba's POV

I set out as quickly as possible for Pegasus's manor. Proposition? What kind of fool does he think I am? Im leaving there with Joey and that's all.

Silently, I sit still in the back of my car as one of my butlers drives me to Pegasus. There is no point in me driving, because, with my current emotions, I could've crashed the car.

Joey's POV

I have been sitting on my temporary bed for hours now, just thinking about Seto... I really miss the fella. I feel horrible for giving into Duke, I mean he isn't anything compared to Seto!

I wonder if Seto has discovered I'm gone yet... Would he even bother with me? I mean... There's plenty of other gorgeous girls and handsome guys out there... Why settle for... This?

Kaiba's POV

I arrive at the Pegasus Manor and immediately get out of the vehicle as soon as it came to a halt. I tread a little closer to the entrance after the long walk from the gate. Joey... He's in there, I can sense it.

I ring the doorbell with discomfort. I start tapping my foot against the concrete patio in anticipation whilst gritting my teeth with concern. The door is opened by one of his maids and I am let inside. It's nothing compared to my mansion, but it reeks of Pegasus.

I am led deliberately towards a specific office which I can only believe is where Pegasus is present. The door opens quietly and I see him. The man with his lengthy silver locks and his blindingly lipstick red outfit. It makes me feel nauseated just glancing in his general direction.

"Ah, Kaiba boy... You are just in time! Would you like some tea? I got my servants to prepare some jasmine tea. Or if you would like how about green tea?" Pegasus grinned playfully whilst motioning his maid to pour a cup of tea.

"Let's cut to the chase. What do you want from me in order to let Joey go?" I spoke with apprehension. I had to make sure this was done as promptly as possible... I hate loitering, and I know my puppy is expecting me too.

"Oh you are certainly no fun at all, are you? You won't even spare a minute to play this game. Is that stray mutt really that important?" Pegasus cried out in displeasure. Unsatisfied he then raised his cup of tea towards his pursed lips and gently took a sip. His face then became serious and he glared right up at me.

"Yes. If you are smart enough to understand, give him back." I announce calmly. I already recognize I've struck a nerve in him, but I need not waste time in this filthy place.

"Ah... Fine, if you want to play that way, I have no choice." Pegasus stood up and signalled me to follow him. I could only believe he was bringing me to Joey, so I gave in and followed.

He came to a standstill. He then whistled to two tall strong men behind me, and they had grabbed my arms. He's restraining me? That is not a good sign. I'm feeling uneasy.

He opened the door gradually and in the room sat Joey snuggled up on the bed. My heart melted, and my body relaxed... He was safe. It was like a great tension was lifted off my shoulders.

"Boy, sit up straight!" Pegasus shouted at Joey. I want to swat the man with my hand already.

Joey slowly sat up, carefully shifting since he still wasn't as strong as he used to be. He then glanced up with sorrow. His eyes met mine, and suddenly they lit up with excitement which soon faded as tears started to fall. I couldn't think of why... But pegasus must have done something bad to Joey. I won't tolerate it if he did.

"Now Kaiba boy... As part of the deal, I wanted to propose, I would like you to switch places with Wheeler." Pegasus said menacingly.

Switch places? What the hell is this ignoramus on about? I can't come up with a justification as to what Pegasus could possibly be inferring.

"I'm not sure I comprehend what you are suggesting," I explain sharply. I try to wander closer, but the two men clutching my arms yanked me back in an instant.

"Then watch and learn... Kaiba boy~" Pegasus stated happily. He sauntered closer to Joey and pushed him down onto the bed... He stroked his long hair behind his ear and placed his lips on Joeys. Joey flinched and was clearly in distress. I'm going to kill that man.

I pulled with more strength than last time, but still to no avail. Fury was slowly building up. I didn't want this superfluous representation to go on for much longer.

I saw Pegasus begin to try and pull down Joey's trousers... I glanced at Joey making eye-contact with him. He then spoke softly:

"Help... Seto!"

My eyes dilated with rage and I got a severe burst of adrenaline. I managed to free myself from the two men and charged towards Pegasus with the full intent of hitting him. I ended up throwing my fist at his face making him fly across the room, colliding with the wall.

Glancing back towards the door, I noticed the men were still obstructing the exit. I didn't want to take them both on at once, so I had decided to pick up Joey princess style and kick the closest window.

I then braced myself to jump out the window with Joey in my arms, it was only one floor anyway.

I lept out the window and felt an intense pain spreading up my legs, but none the less, I ran to the car and gently placed Joey in, and soon after, I joined him.

"Quick! Drive!" I shouted to my driver. He was startled by the sudden noise but luckily came to quick. He then began speeding off towards the mansion.

"Joey, are you alright?" I asked worriedly. If he was hurt, I would never forgive that flower of a man Pegasus!

"Seto... I... You...!" Joey stumbled on his words. I didn't understand what he was trying to say until he hugged me tightly out of the blue. His grip was so tight it surprised me. I felt him gently sobbing into my jacket.

I was pleasantly surprised... I missed him so much.

I hugged him back as well as a warm feeling in my chest began to grow...
