Chapter 4: Aaron

I wish I could wipe the grin off of Lily's face when she takes in my shocked expression.

How in the world do they know about me!? I was supposed to be a secret.

They said the world was too fragile to know about people like me.

My racing thoughts are interrupted by the ruffling of bushes followed by a "Shit!" as a guy stumbles through the rough bushes.

Scott shoots the boy a look and then glances at me embarressed.

The boy looks around and his eyes meet mine.

I'm stunned silent.

His eyes are the most amazing eyes I have ever seen. His startling green eyes are easily seen even in the darkness.

I could have stared into them forever had he not laughed hysterically.

"This is her?" The boy chuckles.

"You're joking right" He can't stop laughing and something about him makes me want to punch him in the face.

"You must have got the wrong girl Amber" He sighs "Connor will be thoroughly disappointed in you" He shakes his head in mock disapproval.

Amber makes a move to punch him but he catches her fist easily. "Whoa easy there!" "This face is worth more money than you will ever see in your life" He traces the line from his sandy blond hair down to his chin as if he's checking to make sure there are no scratches.

"Amber growls and spits his name like the taste of it on her mouth disgusts her "Aaron!"

Scott jumps in before Amber throws another punch. "There are ladies present!" Scott chimes annoyed. "Amber gives him a dirty look at that one.

I stand there awkwardly wondering what I should do.

They saved my life and yet they could only have done it for their own personal gain. Maybe they want to kill me themselves?

I'm about to make a run for it when Aaron's voice fills the space "I'd watch this one she looks kinda crazy, might kill you in your sleep" He snickers.

I officially hate this guy

Aaron is now leaning against a tree his lean tanned body can't be shorter than 6 foot. His flawless face is almost angelic and yet his shaggy hair falls over his right eye.

"Let's keep moving guys Connor really wants to meet her" Amber breaks the silence before Aaron gets a chance to.

Amber pushes me forward with Lily in toe and the two boys in the back.

I can just barely hear Aaron lean in to whisper to Scott. "No wonder Connor wants her she's kinda cute in a psychotic way" Scott elbows him in the ribs and Aaron shoots him a glare.

I'm suddenly scared of who Connor is.

Why does he want me?

What does he want me for?

Who does he think I am?

That last one I myself am still trying to figure out the answer to.

I can't take it any longer "Are you going to kill me?" I ask to anyone willing to answer.

Everyone stops and there is silence for a moment before they all break into laughter.

"Wow you havn't told her a thing have you?" Aaron laughs

"Poor girl probabky thinks she's been kidnapped!" Aaron is struggling to breath through his fits of laughter.

"I was waiting for Connor to explain" Amber fires back at Aaron.

Lily stops laughing long enough to say "No wonder she's so frightened by all of us!" Scott's face remains neutral as he stares at Amber who just shrugs.

"If you wait like 5 minutes you won't be so confused" Scott says.

I think this over and contemplate my options.

What if they really want to help?

Kidnapping or not they did save me and that has to be worth something.

"Fine" I sigh

"Good" Amber says and with that the laughter dies and we continue walking through the forest the only sound being the crunch of the leaves as our feet make contact with their fragile skin.

When we reach an old gate the 4 of them stop and Aaron steps forward and tugs on the gate. It opens with a creaking groan.

"In you go" Aaron shoves me through the gate and shuts in behind me.

I spin around my heart racing only to find a couple of pissed off faces and Aaron's sly grin. "Open the door" Amber seezes. "Fine fine" Aaron frowns and shoves open the fence.

"I was just messing with her!" Aaron chuckles.

'Gosh you guy's take everything so seriously!" Aaron says while rolling his eyes.

"That was not funny" I manage to say.

Aaron raises his eyebrows in a way that makes my heart stop. "It was funny to me" Aaron grins and strides forwards.

"Don't worry he's always been a jerk" Lily says as she slides next to me.

"I figured" I say.

I think we are walking through a cemetery but I can't be sure because I can't exactly see. All I know is that every five seconds my feet trip over a hedge and Lily has to grab my arm to keep me from diving head first into the ground.

I'm grateful when we finally stop and it takes me a moment to realize we are standing infront a of a tent.

My father used to take me and my mother camping when I was little.

I remember the smell of marshmellows burning over a fire and the crisp and burnt taste of the gooey thing on my tongue.

This tent is about 30 times larger than the 3x4 my dad had. Little lights are glowing from the inside of the tent casting a subtle glow on the tent.

"Here we are" Lily says and I'm not sure what to feel other than fear.

"Good luck" Scott says as he and Aaron walk into the darkness that surrounds the tent.

"Connor's been waiting for you" Lily says as I'm shoved by the two girls into the massive tent.

What have I gotten myself into?

Here it is! Sorry for the delayed update! I was super busy this week :) Hope you like it I really wanted Aaron's chapter to be a good one since he's a big part of the story.
