AARON'S POV

I did not just do that.
I am such an idiot! Before I went in there I promised myself I would give her the cold shoulder, ignore her, after all Connor was my best friend.
But when she said he might mark her, my wolf took control and I wanted nothing more than to rip his throat out.
I hadn't meant to snap at her but then she defended him and I remember what I promised and I realized that maybe if she hated me it would be easier.
Yea that would be a no.
I felt like shit and I had only been gone from her side like ten minutes.
My wolf was pissed at me and frankly I was a little too. We'd been getting closer and I just blew it! I could have just stayed her friend but I don't think I could have beared that either.
Now that I knew that Emma was my mate, I didn't ever want to be away from her but I was going to have to suck it up until Conner marked her and it cut the bond.
Just the thought of that had me growling and my wolf itching to come out.
"CHASE" I practically screamed through our mind link.
'What the hell man! No need to freaking yell!' Comes his response almost immediately.
"I need you to watch Emma." I growl running into the forest and shifting. I definitely needed a run.
He doesn't respond for a little and when he does all he says is: 'Isn't that your job?'
Typical smart ass Chase. 'Yeah but uh I need to go for a run.' I say.
"I dunno man, she's hot and all but she seems kinda crazy." He chuckles and my wolf snarls. Gosh I find out who my mate is and suddenly even if someone says her name I want to kill them.
"JUST DO IT!" I yell using my Beta voice which still has a hint of Alpha in it from my old pack. 'Fine Fine' he says submissively before cutting off the link.
This was going to be so much frigging harder than I thought.

EMMA'S POV

*One Week Later*
Connor's avoiding me (thank God) and I havn't stepped out of my room all week.
To me it feels like my heart is broken even though it has no real reason to feel that way. It wasn't even like we loved each other so I didn't understand what was happening to me.
Connor and just about everyone else had summed it up to my argument about being marked and or changed.
That was definitely part of my wallowing
