Chapter 17

*Ashe’s POV*

            I woke up sometime later that night and everyone was asleep from what I could hear so I got up and I went outside to work out for a little while. When I got out there I could smell something that smelled like rogue but I shook it off and started doing my normal warm up. I stopped when I heard a twig snapped somewhere in the woods and I snapped my head towards where the sound came from and took a deep breath; I started growling lowly when I smelled a very strong scent of rogue so I mind linked Madison saying, “Madison! Wake up! I smell and hear rogues in the woods!” she groaned in my head and said, “What did you say?” I yelled at her, “I SMELL ROGUES!” I heard her start growling and then all the lights in the house turned on and I heard the rogues getting closer and then by that time I could see the outline of them. I shifted into my white wolf and got into a fighting stance; I was growling at the woods when I heard more people come outside and I heard some of them shift but all of them were growling. By this time the rogues were just now coming out of the woods and I saw their eyes widen at the amount of people who were out there waiting for them. It was silent for a few minutes and then a man walked out from in the middle of the wolves and asked for the alpha and Luna to shift and walk forward. So Madison shifted and walked up to the front and said, “Ashe shift and come with me.” I nodded my wolf head and shifted back into human form and walked up to Madison and together we walked to the front and stood in front of the man. He introduced himself, “Hello. I am Steve. I want to ask you if you would give up your territory easily or we will take it force.” Madison frowned and said to Steve, “I’m sorry Steve but I won’t give you the territory easily or by force.” Steve nodded and said, “That’s what I thought.” With that he shifted into a huge brown wolf so me and Madison shifted too.

            Steve went at Madison’s neck but she ducked and he went flying over her and then the fighting began. A wolf jumped at me but I grabbed his neck and shook my head until I heard a snap; I dropped the body and went for the next one. I attacked another wolf and grabbed hold of his shoulder and shook and I tore a chuck of meat off; I dropped it and went at him again. This time I got a hold of his throat so I shook again and I heard a snap again so I dropped him and I looked around to see everyone fighting. From the looks of it we were winning; I felt a sudden weight on me so I dropped and went limp to make it look like I was dead. I felt him get off of me so I jumped up and grabbed him around the neck and bit down as hard as I could until he went still. I held him for a few more seconds to sure he was dead before I moved on to the next one. I ran at a small blonde wolf and grabbed it by the neck and shook my head to end it quickly. I looked around to see that there were no more wolves around me but there were three circling Madison so I ran over to her to help.

*Madison’s POV*

            I growled at the three wolves surrounding me when I saw Ashe creeping up behind one of them so I jumped at one of them and she jumped at another. The one I attacked bit me in the shoulder and shook his head; I howled and snapped at his neck hoping to get it but I missed and got his shoulder too. I shook my head and tore a piece off and dropped it while he let go of me so I snapped my jaws around his neck and bit down feeling his windpipe crush. I dropped him to the ground and looked for Ashe to see her drop her wolf too. The third one looked at us both and whimpered and turned around and ran off. Ashe took off after him; she launched herself at him and landed on his back and bit down on the back of his neck. I heard him howl so I ran over to them and bit his hind leg; Ashe let go of the back of his neck and jumped off of him and quickly grabbed his neck and jerked her head and I heard a snap and the wolf went limp. I looked around and saw we had won so I threw my head back and howled and soon everyone else had joined me.
