I looked him up and down. My eyes met the flowers he was holding.
"For me?" I asked gesturing to the bouquet.
"Uh no, for Max. Is he home?" he said jokingly and handed me the flowers.
"Wow you're a funny one," I said sarcastically.
I went inside to put them in a vase. Aaron followed me.
"Oh, right, I have to ask..." I said.
"Shoot."
"The boys didn't ask why you weren't going with them to the party did they?"
"Uh yeah they did but I told them I had some family thing and couldn't go so if they ask, my grandparents are in town," he said, scratching his neck.
"Okay," I said with a small laugh. "So should we go?"
"After you," he said, holding open the door for me.
"Why thank you," I said with a smirk.
We called an Uber and soon we were at the mall where we were seeing the movie. It was about eight-thirty ish and by ten the movie was over. We shared our thoughts on the movie and laughed over how bad the acting was. We made it to the restaurant and sat down. We sat down and ordered. Just as our orders came guess who I saw. No one but the boys and Mila. Of course, just one more thing to add to my list of cliches. It's almost funny at this point. Almost.
"Shit shit shit shit shit!"
"What? What is it?"
"Okay don't panic but the boys are literally coming this way."
Aaron turned around and quickly turned back before the they saw him.
"Okay, uh, dont worry. We'll just, um, okay I have an idea. Stay here," he said and picked up our plates.
He rushed to our waitress and asked her if she could please put our food in a takeaway box and paid for our meal. He came back to our table where I was sitting, still trying not to be noticed.
"You comin'?"
He grabbed my hand and we ran full speed out of the restaurant. We saw the boys and ran the opposite direction. It was like a wild goose chase except we were the geese. Up and down many elevators, running through multiple stores and hiding behind the occasional pop-up shop, we eventually made it out of the mall. Okay well that might be a bit of an exaggeration. We just speed-walked out of the doors however we did go down an elevator to get there.
"So tonight hasn't gone quite as I planned but I do have one last surprise planned. It was only meant for after dinner but I think I have an idea with which it can be very useful."
"How mysterious.." I said with a giggle.
He lead me to the other side of the mall where there was a bike rack filled with at least fifty bicycles.
"That ones mine and this is yours," he said, taking out a bike and handing it to me and going to take out his own one.
"How convenient," I said taking the bike and thinking about my chick flick conspiracy.
"Put your food in your front basket and follow me."
"Where are we going?"
"You'll see."
"That sounds a bit dodgy but okay."
"I promise I won't murder you if that's what you're implying," he said with a smirk.
"You have no idea how much that means to me," I said, rolling my eyes.
We got on our bikes and started off to who knows where as far as I was concerned. About ten minutes later we had set up our bikes against a gate.
"Aaron... where are we?"
"The park. Can't you tell?"
"Yeah but it's locked."
Just then I realised what was about to happen.
"I'm not breaking into a fucking park Aaron."
"Come on Zo," he said hopping over the gate.
"Dude get back here before someone sees you and call the cops!"
"No ones gonna see us, it's pitch dark, besides, even if they did no ones gonna care enough to do anything. It's only the park Zo. What're we gonna do? Steal a bench or...gasp... an acorn"
I knew I would soon regret this but I didn't want him to think I was scared. I climbed over the fence after inspecting my surroundings to make sure no one was watching. Once I was over I walked to the oak tree where Aaron was sitting. He had used his hoodie as a picnic blanket and placed our food on it.
"Wow didn't know she was a bad girl."
"Haha very funny but if we get arrested this was all your fault."
"Deal. That was a close one huh?"
I realized he was talking about the mall now.
"Yeah, hey, uh, thanks for understanding why they can't know and everything and making sure we didn't get caught."
"Hey don't mention it, if its important to you it's important to me."
"It's just that I have to live with two of them and I just can't handle the interrogation everyday."
"I get it, no one would want that. Speaking of things no one wants, do you wanna hear a funny story about Jaden?"
We talked and laughed for hours after that, and only much later at about two did we finally decide that we should probably head home. Little did we know soon the unspeakable would happen. Okay well not unspeakable but like it was pretty weird and just confirmed all my cliche conspiracies.Hey guys, thank you so much for reading!
