Kuroo Tetsuro x Reader

☾ 9 ☾

Kenma's POV: 

"Oh, Kuroo's here too" (Y/n) said as she knocked on my door and I told her to come in.

"Ah right, I forgot to tell you" I said as I kept on kicking an IA's ass. 

"Ku-roo-san" Kuroo said to her probably smiling silily. I wasn't looking at him but by his tone and recent realization of his feelings for her I didn't need to in order to know he was flirting with her.

"Dream on it" she said as she waved him off and sat to see my masterful game "I don't care if it's Kuroo or whoever, I'll beat their asses anyways" she said getting exited to try the game.

"Say (L/n), do you have an ass kink?" Kuroo asked her.

"Do you have a -san kink?" she taunted him back.

Again, I didn't need to avert my gaze from the screen to know Kuroo, and maybe (Y/n) too, were smiling teasingly at each other. I sighed while I rolled my eyes.

We decided to do something we used to do when we were kids which was make a small championship where we dueled each other and the winner stayed. First was Kuroo against me who I effortlessly slew. 

"Move over, loser" (Y/n) said mocking Kuroo, making me roll my eyes because she was just gonna be defeated as fastly as him.

And not surprisingly, I was right. I finally killed her although I must say she took me to a 3rd round which was at least a little effort to me. To her losing followed another retort from Kuroo making fun of her. And then another snicker from her as I massacred him over and over again. 

"I'm the loser?" she asked to Kuroo's affirmation "At least I've made him some damage, and taken him to the 3rd round"

I sighed to their childish bickering.

"You both are losers" I finally said "I've been on the throne for an hour. You suck"

They both looked at me squinting their eyes, but even if they didn't like what I said, that was the truth. 

"Okay then, let's see what else you got here" (Y/n) got up to my videogames' shelves in order to change the videogame and challenge me in something different which wouldn't matter because it was highly unlikely for them to beat me "This" she grabbed one and showed it to us.

"Alright" I said switching off the Ps4 and turning on the Nintendo Switch so we could play Smash Bros Brawl.

"You, me, team up" (Y/n) suddenly said  with a determined tone to Kuroo who was looking at her taken aback by the proximity and unexpected change of mood, as a few seconds ago they were basically insulting and mocking each other.

"Okay" he finally smiled at her.

I passed them two controllers and the three of us began choosing the characters, except for (Y/n) who was whispering a strategy on Kuroo's ear. I looked at them from the corner of my eyes and saw the tip of Kuroo's ears turn red as he nodded. Then she finally chose a character and changed its colors so it'd match Kuroo's and reaffirm their alliance.

The match started and they tried attacking me from different sides but all I did was dodge, and even though I received some damage they also hit each other. I based my strategy on dodging until the smash ball appeared so I could have the final. And so I did, catching it first and sending them both out of the screen, which left them with 2 lives while I still had 3. 

As they were reappearing some objects dropped and I made sure to grab the hammer so as they fell reappearing I started hitting them, but (Y/n) was smart enough to run away from me whereas Kuroo was literally fucked because once the hammer was finished I spammed the attack and pushed him from the edge several times until he died.

"Okay change of strategy" Kuroo said as he whispered some other things on (Y/n)'s ears as she and I exchanged some hits.

Once again the Smash ball came and I tried to hit it but (Y/n) kept on putting herself in the middle making me hit her instead and so this time it was Kuroo who got the ball and activated the final, shooting it to my side and throwing me and also (Y/n) as she was on the way out of the screen. 

They both bumped their fists as they smiled, but they really hadn't accomplished much as I still had 2 lives and each of them had 1. (Y/n)'s character appeared again as she whispered some other strategies on Kuroo's ear and he nodded smiling once again. 

Again, they tried to hit me from different sides but this time when (Y/n) started to have the most damage Kuroo put himself in between her and me while she went to look for some of the objects that had just dropped, she threw me an explosive that I had anticipated and thus dodged making it only hit Kuroo and lose a 3rd of his life. I tried to hit her but Kuroo jumped in the middle again. Then (Y/n) grabbed another object which was the hammer and came right towards us as Kuroo was pushing me towards de edge. I waited til the last second to jump so Kuroo killed his own character and died finally, however, (Y/n) jumped too and got to kill me.

"You got this" Kuroo started cheering her up. 

As my character started reappearing the Smash ball appeared almost dooming me. She still had the hammer so she got the final before I appeared and activated it the same second my character came to the scree. Killing me instantly because of how lucky she had been.

Kuroo and (Y/n) did a high five while they smiled and I huffed.

"Now who's the loser?" (Y/n) mocked me.

"Loser" Kuroo reaffirmed her question while he looked at her smiling and she stuck her tongue out to me. 

"You two are still the losers" I answered, not referring to the game but life in general because they were the idiots that had the person they had been in love for their whole life in front of them and didn't even realize.

I left to grab some water and some more food as I told them to play whatever meanwhile. Once I was back I sat as I saw them playing against each other again. I stared at the screen listening to their comments and jokes and thinking how they could do some better movements and srategies. Throughout this time I couldn't help but really feel like all those years ago. In fact, if I didn't quite think about it it would even look like she hadn't left at all, and Kuroo knew who she was and we all were perfectly fine. We were the three of us together like we used to, we played games like we used to, they still sucked at those games like they had always done, they teased each other like they always did, and I was third wheeling like I used to when we were kids.

(Y/n)'s POV:

It started to get dark and with that I received a message from my dad telling me not to stay out longer because it was a school day. So I decided to leave and said goodbye to Kenma.

"I must admit. You're not that bad as a teammate" Kuroo said as we both walked home. 

"You too" I smiled at his words.

"However, you still suck as a rival" he added picking on me yet again.

"Well, it was me who defeated Kenma, and who was closer to killing him on Mortal Kombat too, so if I were an actual sucker like you I'd shut up" I said joking as well, making him laugh.

After that we walked down the dark streets, merely illuminated by the streetlights, in a pleasant silence while I couldn't help but smile. I didn't know quite well why was I doing so but the more I tried to stop it the more I smiled and felt a little nervous because I had my suspicions it was because of my liking to Kuroo and how we had been during the evening. I looked at him from the corner of my eyes and saw him faintly smiling too while looking at the floor.

For a moment I felt a bit of adrenaline on my chest as I felt relieved to see him smiling too.

"See you tomorrow" I said stopping to go my way. 

He looked at me as if he hadn't realized we had finally got to where we parted ways and smiled at me nodding to then disappear through the dark street alone.
