When we got home, I went straight to the fridge and grabbed a beer and began to chug. God I'm so stupid. Of course he ran off with her. Why wouldn't he? I shouldn't even care anymore but I did. I couldn't help myself. I heard Damian give a disappointed sigh from behind me and I turned to see him leaning against the open doorway of the kitchen.
"You're not mad at me are you? I'm sorry that I did that. I know that you didn't really want it, but I had to," he said. I waved him off with my hand.
"It's okay Ian. Really. I understand that you're just trying to help me and I'm not mad at you. I'm just upset," I assured him. He nodded and stood there looking at me with speculative eyes as I brought the bottle of alcohol back to my lips. I handed him a bottle as well and he opened it and took a sip.
"I'm not sure if I can do this. I can't stand knowing that I hurt him in any way, no matter if he hurt me or not," I admitted. Damian sighed and leaned against the counter.
"I understand princesa," he said quietly. Suddenly he smiled and shook his head, releasing a breath.
"What," I asked curiously.
"You know what your problem is? You don't love easily, but when you do, you love too hard. You're a beautiful person inside and out, and you won't even change that for the cruellest of people. That's what makes you so special Vicky. Nick is the one missing out, not you," he said softly.
I pursed my lips, thinking of Damian's words. It felt like my heart was expanding and beating faster and when I looked at him, all I felt at that moment was lust. This unexplainable burning desire coursed through me, and no matter how badly I knew it was wrong, I wanted this now.
I took two steps forward, closing the space between us, and encased his lips with mine. I heard him set his beer on the counter and his arms wound around my waist, pulling me impossibly closer. I had one hand in his hair, the other on his neck as our lips moved in tandem. He picked me up and I wrapped my legs around him as he walked down the hall. We ended up in my room, since it was closest, and he set me on the bed, his lower region grinding into me as his mouth explored. He was kissing and sucking my neck and I tilted my head back to give him better access.
I felt the heat burn between my legs and I wanted more. Although I was yearning for Nick, this was exactly what I needed at the moment. Meaningless sex that would satisfy my needs because Nick wasn't the one to do it. In all honesty, I never thought that it would feel this intense, the need for that relief. I moaned softly when Damian's mouth hit my sweet spot and gripped his hair in my hands to pull him closer.
This was the only way to truly forget about Nick for awhile and that's what I was needing and craving.

I lazily opened my heavy eyelids when I heard a constant knocking. Damian was beneath me, sleeping heavily and peacefully. I yawned and stood up, looking around and finding my silk robe to wrap around my body. I tied the strings and my bare feet padded across the hardwood floor as I made my way towards the front door. I opened it and gasped to see Nick standing on the other side.
His face was twisted with an expression that I could neither decide, nor decipher. It almost looked like he was in pain.
"Nick? What are you-"
"Come with me. Now," he commanded, cutting me off.
"What? Why? Nick I don't think-"
"Victoria, just shut the fuck up and come with me," he ordered, his voice raising. I ducked my head down, wondering why he was so angry with me.
