Travel Lightly

I was beyond excited. I would get to see where he grew up and how he lived, not to mention that it was told to be one of the most beautiful and romantic cities in the world. I loved seeing new places and I hadn't been outside of the US, other than London.

Gemini, Jaquez, Rosaline, and Evan would meet us at the airport in France and I was even more excited. I couldn't wait to see all of our friends. I had missed them all terribly and every day, I regret leaving them all behind.

Damian was coming as well, and I was happy about that. I would have all my friends/family with me to travel new places and I knew that it would be absolutely amazing.

Now, Damian, Nick, and I were boarding the plane. I took a seat in between Nick and Damian and we all waited for our flight to take off. I'm sure that they could both tell that I was ecstatic to be getting out of there. I held onto Nick's hand, never wanting to let it go again.

At that moment, I made a vow to myself. I would never leave him or let him leave me ever again. We would be inseparable from now on and I didn't care if I annoyed the shit out of him. He'd just have to get over, because I know that I could never grow tired of him, no matter how much time we spent together. The time apart from him was difficult and even though I was upset at first, I was glad that he had found me.

I must have fallen asleep, watching a movie with Nick, because I was being shaken what felt like only minutes later.

I opened my bleary eyes to see Nick beside me. His blue eyes met mine and he gave me a small smile.

"It's time to get up, love. We're almost there," he said softly. I smiled a little and rolled my head over to see Damian on the other side of me. He stared out the window, seeming to be deep in thought.

"Are you okay," I asked him softly. He turned his head to look at me and nodded once, though it was very unconvincing. He seemed upset about something, but I had no idea what was wrong. I thought that maybe he'd be happier now that we're hanging out again and we're going to France, but I guess I thought wrong.

As I stared at Damian, Nick gently squeezed my hand and leaned over to whisper into my ear.

"I'll be back. I'm going to the restroom." I nodded and he got up. I knew that he just wanted to give me time to talk to Damian, and once he was out of earshot, I turned to look at Damian once more.

"Tell me what's wrong," I asked briskly.

He looked at me again, his face was void of expression and I had no idea what he was thinking. A silent Damian came be a dangerous Damian. He stared at me, his eyes traveling my features and his jaw suddenly grew taut as his gaze lingered on my lips.

"I'm just upset princesa. You didn't tell me anything. You didn't even tell me what you were. I had to find out that you were a vampire because Nick told me. Not to mention that you've been sleeping with other men," he hissed quietly.

My eyebrows furrowed as I looked at him.

"Damian, I get that you're upset about me not telling you, and I'm sorry, but you shouldn't sound so possessive. You're not my boyfriend or something. I'm not even yours," I said, irritated.

"I know that, but you're someone's. You're Nick's. And no, I'm not your boyfriend, but I am your best friend, your first time. You're not supposed to go around sleeping with random men, Vicky. I don't think you get it. You destroyed Nick, and when he came to me that night, I've never seen a man so broken. He was angry before, when it was with me, but that was different. This was agonizing to see, and I wasn't even the one experiencing it. Nick is your mate, and he's a lycan. That bond for him goes deeper than anything else, and you're basically his entire life now. You hurt him, Vic."
