Ch 7

It's been a full week since I've been distancing myself from Ghoul and I have to admit I miss talking to him. I've been hanging out with Party more though helping him on raids and taking down Drac's. My sister and Jet have gotten closer and has officially started dating. They've even been doing better at target shooting and have helped out with taking down Drac's when we needed the extra help. I was again on the roof staring up at the stars and I frowned when I heard someone climbing up. I turned my head and frowned even more when I saw it was Ghoul. "What are you doing up here?" I know I sounded a little harsh but I was a little aggravated with myself. "Checking on you. What's been up with you lately? You've been practically ignoring me all week and been hanging out with Party at every chance." I refused to meet his gaze. "It's none of your business what's been up with me." He looked frustrated. "Look Racer I'm really worried!" I gave him a look. "Well don't be! Just leave me the fuck alone Ghoul!" I could see the hurt look on his face and turned away from him. "Fine. If that's what you want." I winced at his sad tone and listened to him leave feeling my heart break. But it's for the best I thought to myself. I stayed on the roof all night long until the sun came up and reluctantly climbed back down. I could see Ghoul sitting in a booth looking miserable and I passed him sitting by myself eating then went out back to practice my shooting. I heard footsteps coming out of the diner and made a noise of frustration when I saw it was Party. "What do you want?" He stopped beside me. "I wanna know why you keep pushing Ghoul away. It's obvious he really cares about you." I stayed quiet for a minute before saying softly. "I'm not good enough for him. And what happens if one of us gets ghosted? The other person would be miserable. I'd rather just stay friends and not chance anything." He raised an eyebrow at me. "Your scared. And it's better to love someone than suffer in misery and hide your feelings." I frowned and stayed quiet for a minute then mumbled. "I'll think about it." He nods then leaves me alone. I hit one last can before heading out front to Ghoul. "What do you want?" I wince at his bitter tone and say softly. "I just wanna apologize for what I said earlier. And for being so distant." He raised an eyebrow at me. "Look I.... I really like you Ghoul. As more than a friend and I was scared to say anything because all I could think about is if one of us died the other would be miserable." He gave me a look. "But it's better to spend that time together than to be miserable." I flinched and mumbled. "I get that now." Suddenly I felt him lift my chin up and I looked into his eyes. Next thing I know his lips are on mine and I make a soft noise before kissing him back happily. Once he pulled away I rested my head on his shoulder as he wraps his arms around my waist and I sigh in content.
