Scared of the Dark

This prompt is for @Rosehuffelpuff2217 who had asked for a Royality prompt. I hope this meets your standards Rose!!

Roman was terrified, absolutely terrified. He hated the dark. And sure he would usually tell the others it was just because monsters could sneak up on him at night, but really, it's because his brother loved to torture him with it. And wouldn't you know it, remus had locked him in a dark closet, that apparently had weapons and such in here for the large amount of burning from cuts he felt. So what did he do? The only thing he could think of. Sit on the floor, head in hands and cry until it stopped. He didn't think anyone would find him, he would probably die in here and thomas would only have Remus for creativity which was exactly what the horrible green slime ball wanted. And poor Patton would have to live with that messed up man for the rest of eternity. That's what hurt him the most. Though it seemed like he picked on him a lot, Roman had deep feelings for patton. Like humongous feelings that he didn't understand. And maybe it would because patton took care of him all the time. Or because patton supported him, and made him laugh, or the way his eyes would light up when the rest of them, minus logan, would laugh at a joke he had made. But now, none of that mattered. He didn't even have the courage to tell patton what was in his heart, and now he wouldn't get the chance, thanks to his stupid brother. As these sad thoughts and sweet memories mixed in his head he heard someone kicking against the door and he squeaked as he pulled himself in a tighter ball. Why couldn't his brother just leave him alone to die in peace? The banging continued and roman got more scared before the sound of metal hitting the floor rang through the quiet room and the door swung open, revealing Virgil standing there glowing purple as he saw the state Roman was in.

"Come on. Let's get you out of here" he said as he walked over to him and picked him up before running to where he had come from and zapped them back to Thomas's apartment as he sighed. Roman was shaking softly as whimpering as he clung to Virgil, and they were instantly greeted by a concerned Patton who scooped Roman into his arms.

"Your safe now Ro-Ro. No ones gonna hurt you. I'll protect you." He said as he carried him up to pattons room and laid him on the bed. He then grabbed a first-aid kit and started to tend to his wounds. Roman looked away as he sighed, tears in his eyes. He was weak. He couldn't even fight off his own brother and put all the others at risk. He closed his eyes in hopes to hide the tears but instead a few slipped down his face. "Am I hurting you?" Patton asked softly when he saw the tears and Roman sighed, before shaking his head.

"No....just realizing how much of a lousy prince I am" he mumbled and Patton gasped softly

"You are anything but a lousy prince. You are strong and kind and loving. You respect animals and sacrifice yourself for others. You only want what is best for everyone and-"

"Yeah but I couldn't even fight my own brother."

"Even Superman has a weakness. No one in life is ever able to perfectly beat every single enemy or threat they come across. If that was true there would be peace on earth and no one would ever suffer again. So you can't beat yourself up because your twin got to you one time."

"But he knows my weakness. He knows how to make me submit and do what he wants. He makes me a threat to everyone.....to you" Patton smiled a little and sighed

"Kiddo I'll be fine. If something were to happen to me I would get over it. Maybe it would take awhile but I would get through it."

"I couldn't forgive myself if I hurt you. You mean to much to me."

"Well I would rather you hurt me than anyone else."

"Well I wouldn't. I can't lose you patton! I-" he cut himself off and shook his head "forget it it's stupid" Patton looked at him with soft eyes and placed his hand over romans.

"No it's not. Talk to me" he said softly and Roman sighed.

"Fine. I can't lose you because.....because...... because I'm in love with you" he said softly as he still wouldn't look at him. Patton was actually surprised by this. He didn't think it was possible for Roman to love him. I mean he acted like a child 90% of the time and Roman was just amazing. He smiled and ran his fingers through Romans hair.

"Look at me" he said softly. Roman hesitates but turns and looks at him. As soon as he does Patton kisses him softly as he runs a hand along his chest. Roman was surprised but he kissed him back and place a hand on his cheek as they kissed. Patton smiled and the kiss became more desperate, years of passion and love that had been build up by the two emotionally driven sides came crashing over them as they held onto each other afraid to let go. After a few minutes patton reluctantly pulled away with a gasp as they softly panted to try and catch their breath.

"I want to be your princess Ro, let me be your princess" he whispered softly as he looked at him "please" Roman smiled as he held his face in his hands and rested their foreheads together.

"I will let you be whatever you want to me. As long as you truly do love me like I love you"

"I do. I've loved you for so long and all I want is to be yours" he said as he blushed hard and looked down. Roman smiled and flicked his wrist, a crown appearing on Pattons head.

"Then you most definitely are my princess"
