This a DeceitxRoman chaper requested by @Hayyapeepsitsme who is super sweet what the heck so I really hope you like this chapter

Being the King's son, Roman was given a lot of perks. He was given almost anything he wanted when he wanted, he had a guard that was required to follow him at all times, and all of the girls in the kingdom swooned over him so he was allowed to flirt as he pleased. Along with having servants that waited on his every need. However, his all time favorite perk, was getting a mystical pet. Now pet is a loosely used term, animal prisoner is more fitting, but Roman couldn't care less. He was too enthralled with the beautiful scaled tiefling that his father had caught for him for him to even begin to think what they were doing was wrong. He smiled as he skipped to the cell that was attached to his room as he smiled.

"Are you awake my pet." Roman cooed as he smiled. a voice in the darkness of the cage chuckled, and it was cold and humorless.

"I'm not your pet, I'm your prisoner" He said without leaving the shadows and Roman pouted.

"Well I can't really say anything when you wont even let me see you."

"You'll have me killed if you do." He scoffed "I'm definitely not a well known creature of the night that everyone fears. So run along little prince and go pretend to play hero." He said causing Roman to huff and unlock the cage, stepping inside and closing the door behind him. This took the tiefling by surprised. "You really aren't bright are you Roman?" He asked as he just barely stepped into the light. Roman's eyes widened in awe at the beautiful creature that stood in front of him. He had yellowish green skin, with snake scales on the left half of his body with a blue right eye and a yellow left snake eye. muscles were very visible along his torso and arms, and he had a slight smirk that seemed to permanently rest on his face.

"Woah" Roman breathed as he stepped closer to him "You look so beautiful." This once again caught the creature off guard as he took a step back before he hummed and grabbed Roman's chin.

"You think so? Then why keep me locked up here?" He purred "Why not let me lay with you, and hold you, make you feel good?"

"because you'll run away." he said softly as he pulled away slowly and sighed. "You'll leave me and I'll be alone again" He sat on the ground "I might be arrogant and popular, but you're the only real friend I have" The tiefling blinked in utter bewilderment. From everything he had been told about the royal family, he never expected to see a prince feel so empty.

"You...think of me as A....friend?"

"Yes Mr. Hyde I do. Did you think I was just keeping you around because I felt like it?" He looked up at the creature and the look on his face said it all. "Of course you do, the royal family only cares about themselves, never anyone else." He sighed and stood. "I was foolish to think that maybe you of all people would understand not everyone is like their ancestors." He sighed and started to walk back to the door when Deceit realized what he was trying to say. He didn't think he was cruel or harsh or scary like everyone said tieflings were. he thought he was beautiful, and here he stood judging the prince based on his father.

"Roman...wait..." he said as he rubbed his forehead and Roman stopped. "maybe I'm scared okay? I was ripped from my home for no reason, and given to a child as a present, a child my age none the less. How was I supposed to know he was different when all he did was talk about how spoiled and lucky he was? I was wrong, but I've also become defensive due to my....emotions." Roman turned and looked at him confused.

"What are you trying to tell me?"

"Everyday I've been here, since we were fifteen, I couldn't help but notice how kind and graceful you were to those around you and....I couldn't stop myself from falling in love with you. I-I thought those feelings would make me weak and vulnerable, so I hid them behind sneers and sly comments." He looked down and sighed, not seeing Roman watching him in utter shock, or seeing him start to walk closer. "That's what I've always been good at, deceiving people, so my name became Deceit thanks to those in my tribe"

"Deceit" Roman said softly as he ran his fingers through the creatures soft hair. "Love does not make you weak or vulnerable until you give in to the feelings of weakness and vulnerability. Love gives you the strength and passion to protect, and care and  cherish and defend. Those feelings are the truest and most important ones that live inside of us. Now whether you want to act on them is your choice to make, just never ever-" He gasped as he was suddenly cut off by deceits beautiful soft lips pressed against his. He was surprised, but only for a second, before he wrapped his arms around his neck as he kissed him back. They were locked in a sweet, loving, slightly passionate kiss until they had to breath and they pulled away, foreheads touching instead. "If I let you out will you stay? Do all the things you talked about earlier? Still love me?" he whispered. Deceit was quietly panting as he looked at him with bright eyes.

"As long as you treat me like a human and not as some animal, then I will stay." Roman eagerly agreed as he set him free. And the first thing that Deceit did? He picked up the small Prince and carried him to his large bed, cuddling him as he laid down. Roman giggled as he nuzzled close and his hands slowly ran along the scales on his new lovers face.

"We're going to have to sneak around, my father isn't going to like that I'm craving the affection of my pet." Deceit chuckled and smirked

"Like I said, I'm very good at deception." And so that's how it went. Roman and Deceit spent as much time as humanly possible together, sneaking out on dates, cuddling under a massive blanket fort, even slipping in the cell to have sex just to be sure he wasn't caught. Until it was time for Roman to pick who would be by his side when he took the throne. "Are you sure about this?" Deceit asked, nervous for the first time since the start of their relationship.

"You want to marry me don't you?" Roman asked softly and Deceit quickly. "Then I'm absolutely sure." Then he walked out onto the balcony with Deceit in the shadows waiting to be summoned.

"Have you brought your lover with you Roman?" His father asked as he smiled and looked at him. Roman smiled brightly as he lifted his chin in confidence.

"I have"

"Well let's not keep everyone waiting" The king said smiling, assuming his son had picked a princess from a different kingdom. Roman turned and smiled as he held his hand out to the shadows, where Deceit was hiding, and he smiled grabbing the prince's gloved hand as he walked out of the shadows and stood next to him

"This is my lover, Deceit, and he's the one I'm going to marry." There was a silence, this one more of surprise, but the look on his fathers face was one of pure anger. Before he could even yell out a single word, the crowd irrupted into cheers. They were grateful and proud to see the future king did not hold biases based on tales that had been passed on. He learned who a person was in their hearts and judged them from there. And this was all they needed, was the approval of the crowd. the king wouldn't be able to stop this wedding unless he wanted to lose his crown early. Roman had won, and Deceit was finally, truly able to be loved by another.

Now that it's like midnight, I'm going to bed! But I'm so glad I was given such a good ship to fit this plot that I've had in the back of my mind for so long!
