Yeji's POV
*wakes up to Aunt Taehee calling out her name from the kitchen*Yah I'm coming!!! groaned Yeji as she fondled to put her glasses on the right way "I've never been so tired in my life before" she yawned, still struggling to collect herself from the night before. It was definitely from all the mythological books she has been reading lately. She starts to reflect to herself while she sits there with one leg laid resting on her bed and the other on the walnut wooden floor, stretched out. After a minute of dawdling she inevitably gets up due to the wailed shout of her Aunt calling her name once again.
Yeji proceeded to get ready, she took a long steamy shower and after she then began to brush her teeth. Yeji extended her curtains to reveal a breathtaking landscape of the horizon onwards ahead. She took it in for a moment then abruptly began to pick out her outfit from her wardrobe. Since it was gloomy and frigid outside Yeji decided to wear this outfit.
She grabbed her school-books from her unorganised desk alongside with her schoolbag that was plopped leaning directly beside the leg of the chair with bags of empty chips surrounding it and immediately headed straight downstairs wasting no time since she was most definitely already late for school.
"Joheun achim" Yeji announced to her Aunt as she was setting down Yeji's eggs and tofu breakfast on the dinning table. "Geujjogdo joheun achim ieyo" she retorted back to Yeji as she was finishing putting down the cutlery on the dining table.
While Yeji was hurrying to eat her breakfast so she could meet Jeongin in front of the school yard, right off the bat her Aunt begins to tells her how exhausted she looks. Yeji began to chuckle in awkwardness for she didn't know what else to do. She asks her if it's because of how much time she spends reading on those 'fake creatures' and Yeji almost instantly took offence to what Aunt Tae-hee had said because those supposedly 'fake creatures' could be the reason why her parents aren't with her today really no one knows. Yeji wasn't even there when they went missing all she knows is that there was an insignificant remark in town made by an individual who was deemed to be an outcast. His statement was that they were kidnapped and killed by creatures. Yeji needed some type of closure that's why she never once doubted "the mad man". She often tried to visit him so that she could understand him better, but he's almost impossible to locate. That explains why Yeji is so infatuated with mythology because she wants to know the whole story on what happened to her parents.
Yeji had just finished eating and said goodbye to my Aunt Tae-hee giving her an expression less look on m face as she headed out the door. She ran to her school in a hurry for she knew the bell had already rung and that she was going to be late for her Science class first thing in the morning. When Yeji got there she was surprised to see Jeongin still waiting impatiently at the front of the school doors for her.
Jeongin's POV
I hope Yeji will come to school today *sighs as he says it in his head, standing outside the school building*
The bell has already rung 8 minutes ago and she's not even here yet! I always tell her not to read to much before going to bed or else she'll end up getting caught up and not sleeping until 5am in the morning.*A few moments later* (End Of POV)
"Oh look here she comes" exclaims Jeongin as he sees Yeji finally making her way staggering towards him. Yeji-ah hurry up we are 17 minutes late for class! You know what Mrs. Yun does to students who are late by 30 seconds, imagine what she's going to do to us. Yeji puts her arm over his shoulder as they both walk into the front doors and tries to assure him that Mrs. Yun will understand their situation and that she has no reason to get mad if it's a genuine reason. "And what is our "situation"? Jeongin remarked as a smile curled at the corner of his face whiles staring into Yeji's eyes with his head slightly tilted, waiting for her response. "I don't know, lets just make up one on the spot" mentions Yeji, shrugging her shoulders. "Your call not mine" Jeongin replies chuckling to himself.
As soon as Yeji and Jeongin entered the classroom all eyes were fixated upon them now and the whole room went silent just for a brief moment, you could have almost heard a pin drop. The teacher (Mrs. Yun) gave them the longest death glare. She took them outside the classroom and as she did so the other students in the classroom started chatting amongst themselves.
Mrs. Yun began to question them outside the classroom in the empty hallways. Where they were?, Why they were so late? etc. Both Yeji and Jeongin weren't making eye contact with her and had their eyes pointed to the ground. But as soon as she spoke she had a very calm tone of voice with them which Yeji and Jeongin thought was quite strange that they even lifted bother their heads at the same time and glanced at each other with bewilderment. She was never ever like this with any student whether they were failing her classes or passing them, in probably all her 20 years of her teaching in that school. Her punishment for them was a 30 an hour long detention in the principal's office, which was seen as a blessing from her usual settlement.
Conversation dialogue while in the principal's office.
Yeji : *whispers* How did we even get here, I could be doing something way more productive like....
Jeongin : Let me guess, hiding out in the girls locker room so you could watch a 10 minute video on 'who would win the ultimate battle, Wolfs or Vampires'
Yeji : *silent*
Jeongin : Well that's what I thought *smirks*.
Yeji : Okay maybe I would but that doesn't give you the right to judge me Jeongin *giggles*
Jeongin : Sorry Yeji I'll be more careful with my words next time *laughs back*
Principal : Sorry to interrupt you guys but I'll have to let you guys go early, I have to go to a meeting now and I can't find any other teacher available to watch you, but next time don't come into school that late again.
Yeji and Jeongin : Yes sir *exchanges eye contact while smiling to each other*
Time skip
After school.
