*Jeongin's POV*
Without hesitation I made my way downtown. I only had one goal in mind and that was to find Yeji before sunset. I didn't care if it took me the whole day, Without a doubt in my mind I was determined to do so.
I raced back to my house in a rush catching the attention of some passerby's going about their day, as they glanced at me with bewildered expressions on their faces. I stumbled right in front of the front door, the keys now in my hands, jangling off of each other. I hurried to find the correct one to get inside. Once I did, I thrusted the door open with force. Both of my parents were out. To where? I don't know but at least they weren't here to see me ransack the whole house looking for a can of paint.
I needed paint to use as a guide to mark on the trees so that I could trace my footsteps back from the forest without any wary. I knew My Father had some laying around the house somewhere since he'd really only use it for repairing. Following this fact I ran along to our basement just downstairs. The door let out a slight creek and I slid myself through, switching on the light bulb. And there it was on the right corner of the room on top of a tool box placed on a broad a shelf peering right at me. Yellow paint. "Exactly what I need" I lisped to myself in a pleased manner. I did a quick 360° around the room looking for some type of ladder or stool that I could use to reach the paint with. To my avail there was a stool proped next to the side wall in front of the entrance of the basement. I slowly made my way towards it trying not to step on any implements in the process. Ordinarily I took the stool with both hand wrapped firmly around both legs and tottered my way back to where the shelf was. I placed the stool on the ground, proped next to the lowest fixed shelf. Before putting putting both of my legs on top of the surface of the stool, I first positioned my left leg on top to test how sturdy it was. Once I felt that it could hold my weight, I then stood on the stool. With one hand slightly gripping onto a small empty space that wasn't being occupied with ornaments and my other hand reaching for the handle of the paint can.
Now I was on my tip toes. My weight started to press against the shelf causing the base of the can to wobble a little. As a result, I extended my reach further and managed to get my hands on the handle of the can. I slightly pushed myself backwards, still gripping onto the handle, and successfully lifted it off the top of the shelf. I then brought the can closer to my ear and moderately shook it to see how much paint was available. There seemed to be a decent amount of paint left over. And with that I steadily got off the stool, holding the can slightly outwards from my body; whatching my step as my feet landed on the ground. Now with both of my hands holding the can of paint, I headed towards the basement door, again watching my footing, turned off the light bulb behind me and sighed in relief. Thank God that I didn't make much of a mess down hear. The paint was found without any hassle. I turned the door handle and opened the door and took off to go and search for Yeji.
