Eyes Undercover Of Darkness

In an instance I broke out into tears. I sat in the middle of nowhere with my knees to my chest and my head bent downwards, clenching my backpack tight. I cried for 10 minutes straight not knowing what to do or even what to think. Suddenly I heard a twig snap in half, I brought my head up right away. I looked around and didn't see anything but the cold, foggy air lingering throughout the forest. I then deliberately got up, wiped all the dead leaves and dirt off of me, took a hold of my glasses and tried to remodel them to look somewhat normal again so I could put them back on my face. Except now I could sorta see aside from the crack in the left lens. It would make it a bit challenging, but it was better than nothing. I snatched my backpack, put it on my back and proceeded to start walking again, forgetting about the the twig that snapped not too long ago.

I tried to stay positive and think about the good outcome after I had finished my journey into the forest which was actually quite hard after all of the things that had happened to me so far, but I had to keep my head up.

An hour had past and I started to lose hope after all I said to myself, in addition I had to get home before 10:00am. Without warning I heard another twig snap just like the one I heard a while ago but it sounded even closer. I rapidly brought my head so fast I was surprised that my neck didn't snap. I looked around with anxious eyes, my pupils began to dilate as I was alarmed and I had a very unsettling feeling in my stomach. I turned around to every corner of the forest and didn't see anything. But as I did it again to my horror something life changing caught my eye.

There was a girl who looked to be my age with jet-black wavy hair, blazing reddish eyes, pale porcelain skin. I gave her a bewildered stare but as soon as I saw those teeth of hers and saw sharp, white, shiny fangs the hair's on my skin stood right up. I started shaking like a leaf. I screamed in a fright. She started to get closer and ambled around me in a circle. I stood there with my eyes tightly shut, with my fist clenched trying not to make any subtle movements. She began to sniff my hair then I took a silent step back. I could feel her wintry breath on the back of my neck, I tried to get out the garlic without making a scuffle with all the items in my backpack but I couldn't reach it without making it obvious so I just hoped for the best. Once she commenced to make a very outlandish sound, I opened my eyes and bawled out in terror. She stopped looked at me and her eyes widened, she paused for a moment and then mumbled "It's you" under her breath. She took a step back still while maintaining eye contact with me. She then proceeded to dash off into the forest almost as quick as lighting. I bolted after her forgetting my backpack, trying to keep up with her speed not thinking about the repercussions. She turned around and began to run faster seeing that I was following her. It was hard to see because of the mist and my glasses wasn't helping either.

Soon enough I lost her. I began panting as I was short of breath. I made a motion to reach for my backpack to get my water bottle realising that it wasn't even there. "Aishh" I whined in a distressed tone of voice. After whining like a little child, momentarily I caught sight of what was in front of me.

There was a tinted bronze gate, it was left wide open. Every square and centimetre seemed to be filled with vampires. All the colours around in were dull almost like I was in a different dimension. I was dumfounded at what I was seeing, I pulled back aware of the fact I wasn't able to stay in the open and that I would need a hideout. I scanned throughout the place keeping my hood up and my head down to make a effort not to get noticed. In time I soon found a barn that looked to be abandoned just a little off into the vampire's masked town . It was muted and looked like it hadn't been used in a very long time. When I stepped inside, every inch was packed with dust and mold growing off the damp ceilings. The air also smelt grotty to.

I gazed around the barn, with wide eyes. Then I soon came to the realisation that I would most likely have to stay for the night, maybe even longer. The risk was worth taking even if that meant leaving aunt Chunhei to worry about me. I went to back of the barn, dighted all the dust off and, took of my hoodie and set it down at the spot where I was going to sleep for the night, and popped my bag right beside it. I reached for my pocket to get my phone to check the time and it wasn't even 1:00pm yet. I curled up into a ball and silently lay there, waiting for myself to drift off to sleep. Eventually I did. but I was so tired that I fell asleep for a long time.
