"Lapis!" Stevonnie cried out worried about their friend."It's okay, I'll go get her," Peridot said more composed, but worried nonetheless. "We... we're gonna have to sit this one out, though," Peridot said as she was heading downstairs.
Peridot looked around for Lapis and then found her in the kitchen, knees pressed against her chest, head buried in her knees and her arms wrapped around her legs while shaking. It was pretty apparent that Lapis was crying; no, sobbing to that fact.
Peridot sat down next to Lapis, waiting for her to calm down. "You okay?" She asked Lapis.
Lapis didn't respond.
"Lapis, what's wrong?" Peridot asked once more.
Lapis lifted her head and sighed a shaky, broken up sigh. "G-Go away..." She said.
"Why should I?" Peridot replied.
"Can't you see? I'm a monster. I was fused with Jasper just to torture her! I would never wanna hurt you, so for your own sake, go away." Lapis said crying even heavier.
Peridot placed a hand on Lapis's shoulder. "Of course you're not a monster, you were just angry. I don't blame you, so many horrible things have happened to you in your lifetime. Had I been in your shoes, I would've done way worse," she said kindly to Lapis.
"But what about me leaving you?! Why would you forgive me for that? Only horrible people leave their best friends even if they don't want to leave with you," Lapis said as more years ran down her face.
"You were scared. But either way, you came back just in time and helped us with the fight. You came through, and horrible people would never come help," The small Peridot said consolingly. She placed her thumb on Lapis's face wiping away her tears.
"I-I guess you're right," Lapis said still a bit shakily.
"Of course I'm right, I'm a Peridot," Peridot said with pride. "But also, I know you. I know your intentions, and most of all, I know you're not a monster," she said, this time in a more caring and gentle tone.
"Thank you, Peridot," Lapis said pulling Peridot into a hug as she rested her head on Peridot's shoulder.
"No problem," Peridot said wrapping her arms tightly around Lapis to comfort her.
They sat there for a good ten minutes like that relaxing near each other until they both heard Garnet's voice upstairs stating calmly, "I won, again." Lapis and Peridot chuckled a bit as they walked themselves up the stairs to continue playing video games.
