recap:
"Now that I have found you, you are to become to Queen. To stand by me and help fight for the safety of our pack," I say, "but not literally because I'm not allowing you to be put in any position that might harm you," I mumble to myself.
She just stares at me, blinking.
"Queen?" She asks. I nod, gauging her reaction. She just kinda nods, nuzzling her face in my neck again.
"I might not understand this whole mate thing, and I may not know how to lead a kingdom, but as long as I'm with you, I know I can learn."

His world was a lot different than mine. He lived indoors, I lived outdoors. He ate meat, I ate fruits. He was a King, I was nothing.
Not anymore. The voice inside my head sneered.
What was so different about me that I am being given all these luxuries? When there are elves starving and dying every single day because of the supplies they are lacking. Why am I different?
Elves had to rely on the workings of Mother Nature and if She refused, then you were out of luck. The Moon decided your fate and how things turned out for you. She decides what you receive and what you lose, but this is different. I don't think she chose this for me, because why would she?
What's so different about me?
I feel so out of place in an environment where everything is being handed to me.
The sound of a knock breaks me from my thoughts and for a moment, I forgot I was sat in Abaddon's elegant room as he left for business. I don't know how he knew something was wrong, but he did so he dropped me off here with I haven't met anyone here yet, so I cautiously creeped towards the door. After a few seconds, the knock sounds again.
"Who is it?"
It's silent for a little before a deep voice echoes my head.
"It's Bacchus, a friend of Abaddons. He wanted me to fetch you."
I shrug and open the door, a large, and when I mean large I mean large, man opens the door. He raised his brow down at me, his entire body towering over me.
"You really are a small one," he chuckles. At his words, I pout annoyed.
"I'm not that small!" I scrunch up my face. He just pats my head, my head that doesn't even reach his shoulder. His arm was the width of my body! His striking red eyes stared at me in amusement, watching as I throw my hands up.
"Well since you're so tall and I'm so short, you might as well be useful and carry me!" I huff jokingly. He eyes turn serious and he bows before rising and taking a hold of my hand. Before I could even blink, he swings my body upwards onto his back.
I'm so tall up here!
He doesn't even seem phased as he walks down the corridors. I just place my hands onto his shoulders and scramble to reach higher on his back. He grunts as I accidentally hit his face but with a short apology from me, he doesn't seem disturbed.
"My Queen, are you satisfied?" He asks, turning down a hall to our right. I sigh happily, glancing around Abaddon's beautiful home.
In an instant, I felt my balance become off and my body started tilting backwards.
"Bucchas!" I squeal before my legs slip from his body. He reacts quickly, turning and reaching for my wrist. He yanks me up, looking worried.
"Are you okay, my Queen?" My wrist was turning a slight purple from his grip and he realized that, gently dropping me to the ground.
"Here, let me see," he softly takes my wrist into his hand, inspecting the damage. Five large finger prints lied on the bone of wrist, the skin tinted a nasty purple.
Without releasing my wrist, he gets to his knees and bows his head.
"I'm so sorry my Queen, please forgive me." Why is he asking for forgiveness? It was an accident.
"WHAT IS GOING ON?" Abaddon roared from behind Bucchas. Bucchas quickly turned towards his King, trying to explain the situation.
"Sire, the Queen almost fel-" he is cut off my the deep, sensational voice of my mate.
"Release her at this instant or your head will be in my hands," he growls, his eyes turning a darker shade. I could see him shifting to his true self.
"Abaddon, it was an accident," I softly whimper, watching as his eyes snap to mine. If it was possible, more anger filled his irises but this time directed towards me. Immediate pain and hurt over flooded my heart.
"What?" Abaddon spits, glaring at me. I step back scared.
"Say it again, little one," he hands begin to turn to claws, "I dare you."
"I-I," I stumble back, not understanding his change of moods. Does he not want me as his mate anymore? Whatever a mate was. His change was scaring me. What did I do wrong?
"My Queen, never think that," Bucchas gasps, staring at me in shock. I blink confused, did I say that out loud?
Abaddon takes a step forward, making me scramble back in fear.
"Stay back!" I scream, holding my hands out. Ice cold fear created a thick sweat on the back on my neck. Abaddon freezes, realizing what he did.
"Little one, come here," he says, opening his arms as if he expected me to hug him.
Tears well up in my eyes, "No."
He looked pained at my answer, his eyes revealing his true emotions.
"Baby," he begs. My knees begin to wobble at the sound of his voice.
Bucchas, taking my eyes off my mate, steps in front of my vision.
He will not hurt you. His voice echoed my brain once again. I was startled for a second but soon realized he was just using his power.
How do you know? Even in my head, my voice sounded shaky.
Because whether or not you believe so, you have him wrapped around your finger.
He smiles reassuringly, patting me on the back as I walk past him and into Abaddon's awaiting arms. He instantly buries his head in my neck, taking a deep breath and pulling me towards him.
"I'm sorry my love, let's go eat."
