twelve

R O S E B U D

Descentus sighed sadly, tracing her scar with her finger.

"I got it while trying to protect my son. The kingdom was attacked a few years back and Abaddon was visiting a neighboring kingdom." Before I could stop myself, I reach out and touch her scar too, feeling a warm and tingling sensation. She gasps, backing away from me.

"My Queen, what was that?" She seemed frightened. I just shrug, spotting a square black device.

"What is that?" I ask, pointing to the strange device. She looked scared and confused. Before composing herself, she looked to where I was pointing.

"The TV?" She questions, looking back at me expectantly.

"The huh?"

She chuckles, walking over to her side table and grabbing a rectangle black device with buttons all over it. She points it to the said TV and presses a button on it and it cuts on, loud ringing and screaming comes on, startling me. Before I could control it, I accidentally manipulated the powers of Earth and a tree branch broke through the window and pierced the TV.

It made a loud crash and it fell off the wall and hit the floor. I sat frozen on the bed, tears welling up in my eyes.

"I-I," I sniffle, looking at Descentus. She just stood, staring at the mess I created in shock. She quickly jumped out of whatever she was doing and rushed to my side.

"My Queen, are you alright?" She wipes a tear running down my cheek.

"I'm sorry," I burst out into sobs. I didn't mean to break her things.

She glanced behind her in fear, "My Queen, it's alright. You didn't do anything. I'm sorry this happened under my watch. Do you wish for me to get Abaddon? Do you need anything? Water, food, air?" She tried to comfort me. I just cry harder into her shoulder.

"Shhh my Queen, you need to calm down before you make yourself sick," she cooed. The door burst open and Abaddon came rushing in.

"What happened?" He growls, looking around the room. His angry expression makes me cry harder. Now he's mad at me. I felt my heart tightening in the thought of my mate being angry and clutch my chest, my body curling into a ball.

A new set of arms wound around my body and I felt the warm tingles of Abaddon's body. He must be magic or something.

"Rose honey, why are you crying? Are you ok?" He hums comfortingly in my ear and rubs my back softly. I open my mouth to reply but only sobs come out.

He shh's at me and rocks me back and forth.

"Breathe darlin'." I try to take deep breaths, shakily raising my head to look him in the eye. I need to take responsibility for what I have done.

"I-I," I take another breath, "I broke the TV," as soon as those words come out of my mouth, I break down again and look at Descentus guilty. She seemed to be processing what I said. 

"My King, if I may?" She steps forward. He nods, letting me go and steps back. My chest felt on fire as soon as he did. Is he really mad at me? Why would he go?  

Descentus kneels at my side, staring me in the eyes. 

"Rosebud, listen to me. You've never seen a TV before and it frightened you. It was not your fault. You come from a different world than we do and I didn't mean to scare you. I'm sorry my lady." I sniffle, blinking away my tears. Her aura seemed calm. 

"You're not mad at me?" She shakes her head no, opening her arms for a hug. I wrap my arms around her waist, our auras mixing. I felt our bond strengthen. I think she felt it too as she tensed in my arms from our contact. Her red aura mixed with mine and turned a beautiful orange. 

I giggle staring at us in the mirror. She looks to where I am staring and sees nothing. 

"I should probably get this one to bed, today has been a very eventful night," Abaddon smiles at me sweetly. Descentus stands and bows to us. 

"Thank you my King for allowing me to spend time with the Queen." She rises from her bowed position. I jump off the bed and bounce over to her. I give her one last hug and kiss on the cheek before tapping my cheek. She looked shocked but she complies and gives me a kiss. 

"And remember Descentus," I fumble over her name with a giggle, "he's here. Don't ever forget that." Was all I said before I ran and slid towards Abaddon. He picks me up and sets me on his hip. I give her a wave before we exit her room and are walking down the corridors. Well, him walking. I'm getting a free ride. 

I miss my mom. 

"Abaddon?" I call out. He acknowledges my call and opens the door to our room. 

I hesitate for a moment before continuing, "wheres your parents?" In shock, his arms give out and I fall to the ground. He just slams the door behind him and walks off to another room connected, ignoring me.

What did I do now?

So I got news. 

My basic training ship date is CANCELLED. Wanna know why? 

BECAUSE MY MOTHER GOT RONA . 

I don't blame her but I just don't understand why my date had to be cancelled. Now I have to wait until my senior year to go to basic and ait. 

So , this is good news to you because the military is still making me quarantine myself for 4 weeks. 4 WEEKS. 

So I will be working on my stories during this time of quarantine and since I have a free summer too, I'll be working on it then. 

So hopefully you'll like where i'm going with these stories. Remember I am only 17 and am no way a professional but I still hope you enjoy them. Thank you for all your support. I am trying to work on getting Volonte the same amount of love that Rosebud has. 

I have a very clear image of what I want my stories to be and these are gonna be my main focus.
