Flight
Chapter 2
------
The rest of lunch was full of embarrassing stories of Ty that Adam had to tell, a few pointers on moving from Jason, and Seto sitting quietly, listening to every word everyone had said. At the end, with the help of his friends, everything was cleaned up before everyone left. Ty and Adam were the last ones to leave, running faster than when they first came. Seto grabbed the basket in his jaws, trotting away into the forest for which they had come from."Can I take this stupid thing off?" AE2 asked, more like whined, to Seto.
"Yeah, I guess so," he answered as AE2-seemed to be waiting for no response- threw the cape on Seto and ripped the bandage into shreds. Snapping her wings open, AE2 leaped into the air, flapping her wings in one strong push, she was able to get herself off the ground and hovered a few inches above Seto's eye level. As he put the cape into the basket, he was amazed as he watched her avoid the branches of the trees with such agility. A small dot of jealousy pinged inside of him as he watched her from the corner of his eye.
The breeze picked up slightly, ruffling Seto's hood that leaned over his eyes. A small scent of fresh dew on the leaves of the trees relaxed him, sending him into a deep state of thought. It was only a few seconds later he realized AE2 was talking to him.
"Come on," she was now limping next to him, trying to keep up with Seto's long strides, "Come fly with me." She smiled warmly at him, trying not to show the pain her leg was giving her.
"Not right now," he answered, trying to sound as politely as possible, "do you need anything for your leg?"
"Oh no, I'm fine," she assured him, but the longer she walked next to him, the pain her leg was causing her was showing more vibrant on her face than other emotions. Seto quietly wondered how she made it to the hill without showing much pain at all, or how she was able to jump into the tree if she was hurt. Quietly, he came to the conclusion that it must of not of bothered her as much, and that she can jump a lot higher than what she had showed earlier.
"Are you sure?" Seto asked, concerned, "At least let me check it out," his voice was slightly muffled by the basket in his jaws as he spoke.
"Fine, when we get back to your home," leaping back into the air again, relief spread across her face as she was able to release weight off of her leg. Sighing, Seto picked up his pace to get to his tower as soon as he could. AE2 was already by the door he got there, waiting for him to open it.
"It's locked," she announced, "I can't open it."
"Oh hey, look!" Seto looked past her shoulder into the vast sky, "A cat shaped cloud!"
"Where?" AE2 whipped her head around to search for this cloud as Seto walked over to the door, mumbling words that did not belong in the English language, his eyes glowing a soft shade of purple, then turning to their regular color as a click was heard.
"Hey, would you look at that, the door's open!" Seto exclaimed, seeing AE2 still searching for said cloud.
"No! I don't see it!" she cried.
"The wind blew it away," he said quickly, walking into what was now hell.
His tower was a wreck. Pots were in the sink, books spilling out of the enchantment room from upstairs, as well as feathers that were covering the floor. As for the crash earlier, somehow AE2 had slammed the door hard enough that the ceramic plates had fallen out of the cabinet above the stove, shattering them all over the floor.
Seto dropped the basket out of his jaws, making it bang against the wooden floor. AE2 peeked over his shoulders, staring at the mess as well, her eyes scanning the room in wonder as to what had caused her new friend to drop the basket on the ground. Snapping his jaws shut, Seto grumbled as he picked up the basket again and placed it on the island before looking once again back at the mess. Sighing, he let his head drop down. I'll clean this up later, he thought as he dragged AE2 up the stairs into his already destroyed room.
