Flight
Chapter 5
----
Seto entered his tower, closing the door quickly with a loud thud. Dropping his cape by the door, he trotted up stairs, his suddenly quiet friends following behind. He walked into his brewery/enchanting room/library - whatever you want to call it - his tail swishing from side to side. He sat on the floor next to one of the book shelves, scanning the titles for information about the Starite Kingdom. Adam sat in the room, Ty sitting next to him, astonished of how many books you can cram into one room. AE2 and Jason followed in after the two toms, seating themselves on a random spot on the floor.
“What are doing Seto?” asked AE2 from the other side of the room.
“Looking for a book.” Seto replied as he started climbing the shelves.
“Those things again!” AE2 exclaimed as she jumped on her paws, “I thought they were a dot in the sky! Shouldn’t you be looking there?” Ty slammed his face into his paw when she finished her sentence.
“No, this is a book.” Jason pulled on off the shelf behind him and held it out to her. He set it on the floor and tried to open it, but his paw didn’t budge.
“Seto, did you glue this book together?” asked Jason as he gripped the leather with his teeth.
“No.” Seto didn’t look over his shoulder as he replied.
“Can I try?” asked Adam as he trotted over to the two, Ty following suit.
“Yeah.” Jason slid the book over to Adam, who dug his claws into the cover pulling it as hard as he could. Instead he ended up flipping onto his back with a thud and the book went flying into the air. Ty walked over to where it had landed, picking it up in his jaws and dropping it in front of Jason.
“Here, here, let me try,” Ty said as he picked up the book again without waiting for an answer, “Hold this down.” He pointed to the front cover for, which Adam reculently held down. Pulling on the leather, it didn’t seem to budge, no matter how hard he tugged.
“What are you four doing?” asked Seto, jumping down from the bookshelf.
“Trying to open this book,” said AE2, who grabbing the book from Ty and Adam before they ripped it into shreds.
“You can’t open it anyways.” Seto stated calmly as he snatched the book from AE2, “Hey! This is what I was looking for!” Seto carried the book over to the center of the room, laying on the floor before whispering simple words to open it. As if it were never ‘glued’ in the first place, the book opened up revealing the contents on the inside.
“Woah! How’d you do that?” exclaimed Adam as he peered over Seto’s shoulder.
“Magic,” he said as he flipped through the pages of the ancient thing.
Jason just laughed, “You say that all the time, Seto.”
“That’s because its true,” Seto said calmly as AE2 turned towards her friends.
“You better not tell anyone.” She looked more serious than Seto at the moment, her eyes holding a stern glare.
“We won’t!” Adam backed up as he spoke.
AE2 relaxed her posture and turned back to continue to look over Seto’s shoulder. The words were unrecognizable to her, but Ty seemed to know what they were as he was deep in thought as he read the book.
“So what does it say?” she asked eventually after Seto turned three pages.
“Here.” Seto handed her the book, placing it on the floor in front of her. She lowered her head down so her face was inches away from the paper.
