Flight
Chapter 3
-------
A blood curdling scream was heard throughout the room, quick panting following soon after. Startled by the sudden noise, Seto jumped up in the air, only to see his room messier than before. Glancing around the room in search of the where the sound came from, he found AE2 in the same state as last morning. Panic crawled up his spine as he ran over to her side, grasping her shoulders, screaming out her name.
“AE2! AE2!” he cried, his eyes widening with worry. She opened her eyes, but they were black silts that were barely noticeable, and she was shivering under his paws. Grabbing the healing potion he had left in the room by mistake, he pried open her jaws, but before he could do anything, they snapped shut. AE2 flipped upwards, pinning him to the ground, her claws digging in his shoulders, her face centimeters from touching his. Seto was forced to peer into her blazing eyes as she spoke with a hoarse voice, “I need to go away.”
Seto was paralyzed with fear and confusion as she continued speaking, “I need to go away or this kingdom with crumble under your paws, brick by brick, until there's nothing left.” Her eyes widened as the statements left her mouth, “You need to send me away. I do not belong here.”
“You have every right to stay here, AE2! But I’m afraid you can’t leave!” he barely whispered, but AE2 seemed to hear it just fine as she leaned in closer to him, gripping his shoulders harder. Blood dripped from the new wounds, but he was ignorant of them.
“I have to go away!” Her voice was getting louder by the second, as she began yelling at him. Finding control of himself, Seto pushed her aside and grabbed the potion and pinned AE2 to the ground, dripping the pink liquid into her mouth. Her body relaxed, her pupils were no longer silts and she seemed more aware of what was going on. Pawing at the bottle, she pushed it away before Seto could anything more.
"Why that stuff again!" she exclaimed, her voice much clearer than before, "I’m fine and that stuff tastes awful- Hey, are you okay?"
Seto slightly relaxed, but clearly he was still panicked by the sudden event. "Are you okay?" he repeated to her.
"Uh, yeah, I was just sleeping seconds ago before you woke me up."
"Oh thank god - Wait, you don't remember what just happened?" Confusion hit him like a boulder tumbling down a hill.
"Something happened? Well, whatever it was, could you get off of me and - You're bleeding!" her voice rose at the end. Seto turned to the claw marks on his shoulders, which blood was slowly oozing out of, but not enough to kill him.
"I'm fine, but you need to stay inside for today, because whatever had just happened, was odd," Seto concluded, getting off of AE2. He turned to one of the drawers that weren’t destroyed in the chaos, he slipped on the exact same type of shirt on from yesterday before he walked towards the brewery, signaling with his tail for her to follow him. Mumbling the whole way, Seto trotted to the room, prompting AE2 to sit down on the floor.
“You don’t look fine.” AE2 pointed out.
“Then what do I look like?” Seto snapped at her as he trotted around the room, searching frantically.
“You look like you just had a heart attack while being in a fight with a bunch of whales,” she replied, ignoring Seto’s harsh words, “What are we doing here anyways?”
“I…” he pushed books aside, grabbing a light brown journal with his teeth before turning around and resting it on the enchanting table, “am trying to figure out a few things.” Flipping the book open on the shining black stone that the enchanting table was made of, he read the words on the page that were not in the english language. Nodding his head to himself, Seto whispered the same words he read in the book, stamping his paw as hard as he could on the table. Bright purple streams of light circled around his leg and into the table below. The bright blue diamonds that cornered it glowed as the magic continued to flow through the obsidian.
