Izuku's POV~
"So what's in the boxes?" I was leaning against the outside wall of the bar with my arms crossed. They had both just walked out, empty crates in their hands that they were taking to the truck.
"Nothing." Zero said bluntly, continuing to walk to the truck.
"Har har har, I meant in the full crates with the bottles." I said. Zero was the better of the two at acting calmly. Red was moving around hesitantly and second guessing his movements. Was he scared?
"Bottles." Zero responded.
I rolled my eyes and grabbed a bottle out of the crate Red had grabbed off the truck. "Hey!" He protested as I opened it and smelt the contents.
"It's fucking tequila. Try some, maybe you won't be so fucking uptight." Zero said, walking past and grabbing the bottle of alcohol from me.
"Hey, I'm not uptight!" I shouted as he disappeared into the bar. I heard him place the crate down before he walked back out into view with another empty one. "What are you guys even doing?" I asked them. They were in full costume, voice changers and all, yet they weren't even trying to act hostile.
"What does it look like? We're fucking working. Something I doubt you should be doing right now." Zero growled.
I watched him with wide eyes. "Why do you say that?"
"Because I threw into a fucking brick wall like three nights ago." He said angrily, still not halting his movements. Red had seemed to given up on trying and was now just sitting in the truck, handing crates to Zero as he came back.
I was baffled by his answer. It sounded like he was almost... concerned? Maybe he was just pissed off that he threw me into a wall and I bounced back like it was nothing. Yeah, that's definitely a more logical reason.
"Now if you could kindly, fuck off, we're busy." He said, disappearing into the bar again, but taking longer to reappear this time.
I looked over at Red. He had been strangely quiet this whole encounter. I sighed as I spoke to him, "How much of all of this," I pointed from the truck to the bar, "is illegal?" I asked. I didn't feel like having a full out fight with them again and they hadn't made the first move yet. If what they were doing wasn't breaking to many laws, I was considering just letting them go for the night. Or rather morning.
"It's all one hundred percent legal. We even have an alcohol license. We buy everything from legit sellers. It's an actual business." He explained, just as Zero walked back out.
"Wait, seriously?" I asked in surprise.
"Yes. You got your answers, now go home and fucking sleep." Zero said, actually halting his movements to look at me.
"You're so hostile all the time." I said, turning to walk away. I couldn't be bothered with them at the moment. What kind of example would I be setting if I arrested two people doing legitimate jobs? Even if they are wanted, I could bring myself to do it. "It's kind of mean you know." I said over my shoulder as I walked away.
I heard Zero mumble something, but I didn't catch it. I wasn't in the mood to ask either, so I just kept walking.
I had to brace myself for the hell I'd go through when Ura found out.
Bakugou's POV~
"You're so hostile all the time." Izuku said as he started to walk away from us. "It's kind of mean you know." He threw over his shoulder, not looking back.
"I'm not mean, just protective." I mumbled to myself. He told me so himself.
"Aw Kat, you miss him already, don't you?" Ei asked me teasingly once he heard what I said.
I rolled my eyes at him while grabbing another box. "Let's just finish this so we can make sure he actually went home." I said to him. He nodded and we got back to work.
Izuku's POV~
Since I was already out, I decided to stop at the store and get some groceries. I was still in my hero outfit, but it was so early, only the clerk was in the building. I paid for my stuff and gave him an autograph, then made my way home.
I really just wanted to sit down at this point. My feet were killing me from standing all night. I walked the rest of the way, not bothering to stop at the agency first. Jirou would have filled out a report for the time we patrolled together, and the only run in I had by myself, I was planning on keeping to myself. I'd get into a whole lot of trouble for just leaving like that.
I made it to my apartment just as the full sun came into view. People would start to wake up and head to work. I quickly made it through my front door and set all the bags down on the floor.
"And where the hell have you been nerd?"
Aw crap.
I looked up and saw Kiri sitting on a stool at my counter and Kacchan leaning his back against it. Neither of them looked very happy to see me.
"I-I was just getting some groceries. I couldn't sleep so I figured I just go now to get it over with." I said. It wasn't a complete lie. I couldn't sleep, and I did go shopping. I just withheld some of the truth.
"In your hero costume?" Kiri asked me, looking very amused to have caught me in such an obvious lie.
I looked down and realized that I was, indeed, still in my hero costume. "Damn it." I mumbled. The one time I don't go to the agency first. The one time!
"Bed, now. You look like a zombie." Kacchan ordered. I hung my head and dragged my feet through the kitchen. As I was walking past Kiri, I felt him lean down and scoop me up into his arms, so he was carrying me bridal style. I squeaked.
"Don't look so disappointed. This just means we get to cuddle while Kat makes amazing food." Kiri said with a beaming smile as he carried me the rest of the way to my room.
He threw me onto the bed, causing me to giggle as I bounced on the soft mattress. He grabbed the remote and crawled in next to me, switching to tv on.
"When was the last time you slept?" Kiri asked me once we were both comfortable and cuddling, like promised.
"When you guys stayed." I said, knowing I'd get scolded for it. It had been over twenty four hours now.
"We seriously need to get you on at least a semi normal sleeping schedule." He breathed out. I laughed at his statement.
"Good luck with that."
