I hoped so. What in the world was that supposed to mean? I decided to not think too much about it. I walked back inside the tent where Lizette had lied down and Lionel was messing with weapons. "Do I have to wake up early or something tomorrow?"
Lizette sat up and laughed. "No, why would you?"
"Well you said that we have to carry our own, so I didn't know if I had to go collect wood or something like that."
"Oh no, not yet at least, we still have alot of supplies so I think we'll be good for a while." With that, she laid back down and started snoring softly.
My jaw dropped. "Is she already asleep?!" I looked at Lionel.
"Yeah," he laughed. "She always falls asleep super quickly." He put his weapons back down and crawled over to his sleeping bag. I started to laugh. "What?" He asked.
"You look like an idiot," I told him.
He smiled. A nice, beautiful, friendly smile. His teeth were very white and perfectly straight. He noticed me staring. "What are you looking at?"
"Are you bipolar or something?" I asked, ignoring his question.
He rolled his eyes, "No, I'm not. I am trying to decide whether or not I like you."
"What?!"
"I meant like a person, I mean, uh--I"
"He means whether or not he will trust you to be with us," Lizette said, still lying down.
We both turned to look at her, shocked that she had woken up so suddenly and quietly.
"Go back to sleep," Lionel chuckled. "But thank you. Yes that's what I meant Yuvia."
Lizette turned over and resumed snoring. I couldn't help but giggle.
"What's so funny?"Lionel looked at me.
"Just that she can fall asleep so easily and so quickly."
He smiled, "Yeah I guess it is pretty funny, unless you're trying to have a deep conversation with her at night and don't realize that you've been talking to yourself for the last hour."
"She does that?" I asked.
"Yeah, I think it's cute. By the way, you're name, it means rain right?"
"Yeah, but my parents spelled it with a Y instead of the double L. They thought it would help teachers to be able to pronounce it. Y sí entendí que dicistes cuando estabas hablando con tú hermana."
His eyes widened and his jaw dropped. "Um, I'm, um."
"It's okay, I understand why you would be hesitant to let me stay here with you guys." I smiled at him.
He closed his mouth and rubbed the back of his head. "Yeah, it's just. You just never know anymore." He looked up and smiled at me. I was struggling with the sleeping bag, the zipper had gotten stuck on the fabric. "Here, I got it."
"No, I got it." He was already making his way towards me. I sat back on my knees. He got on his knees and pulled the sleeping bag up to his face. "Why do you need to put it so close to your face?"
"Because I'm blind," he stated, still holding the bag up to his face.
"That's not funny."
"I know," he winked at me. "That's just how I concentrate." He pulled the fabric out from under the zipper. "Aha!"
"Show off,"I said, snatching the bag from him.
He pulled it out of my reach."I believe what you say to me is thank you."
