"Yeah, um. I'm not picking up what you're putting down," I laughed at him. "So I'm what, a duck? Are we all secret ducks or something?"
"No Yuvia. You were raised as a human or an 'alien' as the other humans call us," he explained.
"Well duh, I am a human," I replied sarcastically.
"Yes, but you are a human from this planet!" He yelled, losing his patience with me.
My jaw dropped, he didn't just say that. "Wh-what? Is this some kind of joke?! Are you trying to get me upset or something, because it worked!" I screamed at him. I cannot be part of this stupid and idiotic race.
"Yuvia, you need to calm down." Truine started. "I know that this is alot to absorb, but you need to listen to me."
"What else is there to know?! I've just been told that I am part of the people that I've learned to hate!"
"You are not the only one, Yuvia." He said harshly. "There are others like you, they've been told as well, and they took it a hell of alot better than you." I just stared at him. "There are also ones that are in the same, but not exact, situation as you."
"What? That makes no sense." I was done listening to him. I wanted to go think things through, but something in me told me to stay and listen to what he had to say.
"That kid that you met on the day of the First, who was he?" He asked, changing the subject on me.
"What? How do you know about that?" I hadn't told anyone about him, my heart started to race. Did he kill him? Does Bryan know something? Am I about to get in trouble? "Were you following me?" I asked.
"Did you really think I would let the First go unmonitored?" He looked at me as if I was three. "I wanted to see what actually happened vs what you were going to tell me."
"Then why did you bring it up a month later? You obviously knew I wasn't telling the whole thing the minute I didn't bring that guy up."
"Who was he?" He asked again.
"He was nobody, he was just some guy who was flirting with me."
"I will not ask you again," he growled.
"Fine! He thought I was an 'alien.' But obviously he was wrong because you just told me that I'm not."
"Well, he is who I was talking about, he's an 'alien' raised as a human."
Bryan, an alien. Bryan, someone who was completely human, a creature that I was raised as. My head spun, I got up and tried to run away. I didn't get far. I looked up and saw a yellow bird flying from a tree.

I woke up under a pair of bright blue eyes. They weren't Truine's eyes. I sat up and knocked heads with the girl.
"Ouch. How are you?" The girl asked, rubbing her forehead.
I rubbed my own head, "Who are you?" I said, ignoring her question. I looked around, I was in some kind of tent. Outside the opening I could see that it was night, and it had started to rain. I was lying on top of a sleeping bag, under a bunch of heavy blankets. I looked back to see the girl staring me. She had tan skin, long, wavy black hair. She looked tall, but I couldn't really tell, she was sitting down.
"My name is Lizette," she smiled at me. "We found you lying on the sidewalk. It was getting late so I decided to bring you here." She shrugged.
"We? You decided to bring me in?" I asked. She looked at me and shrugged again.
"Yeah, Lionel didn't want to bring you into here with us." She gave me an apologetic smile. "Lionel is my younger brother, he's eighteen, I'm twenty. He always wants to protect me, even though I'm older than him and can protect myself." She explained.
I just stared at her. Why would she bring me here? No one trusts anyone anymore, either she just has faith, or she's an idiot.
"Um," she said, breaking the silence. "What's your name?"
"Yuvia."
"How old are you?"
"Seventeen."
"Where are you from?"
I hesitated, I don't know where I'm from. Back at my Earth I lived in the capital, but on this Earth the city is known as Seattle. "I'm from Seattle," I decided to tell her.
"Who are you?" A harsh voice yelled at me. I turned to see a tall, equally tan guy walk through the tent opening. He approached me, taking off his hood, revealing his own black and curly hair.
This guy was beautiful.
He bent down to look into my eyes. I stared back into his dark blue eyes, they were like his sisters, except darker. "I asked you a question. Who are you?"
"Lionel, stop." Lizette told him. He immediately stood back up. He looked at her and said something in Spanish.
"Por qué esta aqui? Te dijé que no le traiste!"
Why is she here? I told you not to bring her! They didn't know I spoke Spanish.
"Porque necesitaba ayuda, no sólo iba dejarla allí!"
Because she needed help, I wasn't just going to leave her there!
"Si ella nos mata, es por tú culpa."
If she kills us, it's your fault.
He turned back to me and glared at me. "What's your name?"
"Yuvia." I said. "You must be Lionel, I've heard so many great things about you," I said sarcastically.
Lionel turned to Lizette and glared at her. "I can't believe you did this," he told her.
"She needed help," Lizette said sternly. End of discussion.
Lionel looked back at me, confused. "Do you not recognize us?"
That was random. "Um, what? Should I?"
"Lionel and Lizette?" Lionel said, "Like Lionel and Lizette Messi," he said. He smiled widely like his name was famous or something.
"Nope, doesn't ring a bell." I smiled at him, who does he think he is?
"We're the grandchildren of Lionel Messi, the world's best soccer player." He beamed.
I guess if I was actually raised here, I would know who he was talking about.
Itzeli here! Thank you so much for reading this chapter, it was really fun to write! I had to make this one long because my friend Sydni (yes I'm calling you out) kept complaining about how short my chapters were. Sorry for any grammar mistakes I didn't catch, peazles! ✌
