Hey Mer,

It's your birthday today. Happy Seventeenth! Your parents threw you a party. I helped. I blew up balloons and helped your dad set up a volley ball net in the back yard. Everyone was there. It was really cool. But it wasn't our kind of party. I mean, you were never one for hot pink streamers and sugary cup cake icing. So I left. Sorry, Mer. I ditched your birthday party, one that I helped plan. But that's okay. We had our own little party remember? I brought pizza and we sat under the moonlight within the gates of St. Augustine. I hope you didn't get scared, I was there to protect you anyways. No zombies dared to attack you on your birthday.
