(Third person POV)

The thunder crashed and boomed outside, sending shivers downs Sam's back. Sam had always been scared of thunderstorms ever since he could remember. Tears started to well up in his eyes, as his breathing became staggered. He did the only thing that he could think of, and rushed over to his best friend's apartment. Colby Brock. He silently made his way through Colby's apartment and to his bedroom. He saw Colby's figure sleeping on the bed and walked over to him. A flash of lightning flared outside causing Sam to breathe even faster.

"Colby?" Sam whispered. While lightly shaking him. Colby sat up, groaned, then rubbed his eyes.

"Sam?" Colby asked. Another loud boom interrupted Sam from speaking by knocking him off his feet. Sam let out a small yelp, getting harder to catch his breath. Colby knelt down next to Sam and took Sam's hand and placed It on his own heart.

"Sam I want you to focus on my heartbeat, and breathe in and out with me okay." Colby said calmly. Sam nodded. He followed what Colby was doing and regained his breath back. Sam was shaking a little bit and still crying every now and then, so Colby hugged him.

"Are you afraid of the storm?" Colby asked him. Sam simply nodded. "Awwww, okay. You can stay with me tonight if you like." Colby suggested.

"Can I?" Sam questioned. "Yeah of course." Colby responded. Colby laid down on the bed and opened up his arms for Sam to crawl into, which he reluctantly did. A tear rolled down Sam's cheek, but Colby quickly wiped it away with his hand.

"Shhh, it's alright Sammy, I've got you." Colby soothed.

"T-thank you." Sam stuttered.

"Theres no need to thank me, you know I would do anything for you." Colby said. Colby wrapped his arms around Sam, while Sam cuddled into Colby's chest closer if possible. At that point Sam felt safe, and the storm outside didn't even bother him anymore. Colby rubbed circles into Sam's arm until he fell asleep, then eventually Colby fell asleep as well.

Short but sweet!!
