The woman quickly recovered from her surprise and sprung to a drawer grabbing a knife.

"Hey, woah woah woah put the knife down let's just talk about this." Leo said, stepping between us waving his hands.

"Who are you and why are you in my house?" The woman said, holding the knife out in front of her, despite Leo's attempt at a calm conversation.

"Okay calm down. We were just passing by, we were hungry, this place looked abandoned..." I left that to hang in the air."We will just get out of your hair-"

"Are you demigods?" She asked, looking between Leo and me.

"What?" I asked.

"You heard me." she said, lowering her knife to her side. I just nodded. She sighed and replied,"Alright. You can stay the night, but you will have to be gone in the morning." with that she set the knife down and turned to leave the room.

"Hey, um can we have something to eat?" I felt weird asking but I was beyond starving.

"Ooh and where is the bathroom?" Leo added.
She turned back to us and gestured to the door I was about to open. "Kitchen is that way," then she pointed to a small hallway to our right,"Bathroom is the room on the right." she turned again.

"Thank you." I said to her as she neared a room at the end of another hallway. She just waved lazily behind her, then closed the door.

We stood there for a little bit, just being awkward. "Welp, I'm starving." I said, simply and headed to the door that hopefully contained a kitchen.

I turned the door knob and slowly entered the dark room. I felt around for a light switch. Once I found one I tried to turn it on but it sparked and I was left in the dark. I felt a little panicked and I couldn't move, paralyzed. I may or may not have a slight fear of the dark, which is weird for a child of Hades.

"Hey I think I'm gonna- uh you okay?" Leo came up and waved his hand in front of my face. I blinked and turned to him, trying to not show my fear.

"Who me? Oh yeah! I'm fine. Totally fine." I turned away and stared at the dark again.

"Okay then. If your scared of the dark you could have just said so." He then just walked in reaching into his tool belt and brought out some tools. I stared at him surprised that he could read me so well.

He tinkered with the light a little, whispering to himself. Soon he turned to to me and said,"flip the switch." and when I did, the lights worked. "alright now I gonna have to head to the little mechanic's room but I will be back in a jiffy." he practically ran out of the room towards the hallway.

"Who even says 'jiffy'?" I asked, making my way to the fridge.

"Only cool kids like me." he replied.
