I scratched threw the refrigerator not finding anything but cottage cheese and a few yogurts. I didn't like cottage cheese and I really didn't feel like yogurt so I move to the pantry. I open the dark grain, wooden door and look inside, finding all sorts of junk food: Chips, cereal, an assortment of canned foods, and much more. I grabbed the cereals and choose something that resembled froot-loops. I found a bowl in one of the cupboards and went back to the fridge to see if they had some milk. When they didn't I just decided that dry cereal was fine and sat down at the island in the middle of the room. I stuffed it in my face not caring that I must have looked like a crazed monkey woman.

I heard footsteps coming from the hall and looked to the door finding Leo with his usual cheeky grin. "So you ate without me." He just shook his head and entered the room, heading for the fridge.

"Ya snooze ya loose." I said. He laughed and opened the freezer.

"I guess so. Ooh look-y here." I turned to him and he smiled evilly holding a box in his hands."pop-ups." he whispered excitedly. "I haven't had one of these in forever. Oh man," he chuckled,"Me and this kid Randal used to sneak these for the littler kids at one of my first foster homes, of coarse after we got some. That was until we got caught. Oh jeez. You should have seen her face!" He sat next to me and opened the box grabbing one and looking at the packaging.

"I didn't know you where fostered. I'm so sorry." I didn't know what to say but I really was sorry. He just looked at his pop-up sadly. He lowered his gaze to the table and quickly looked back up at me smiling like nothing had happened, but I could see that he wasn't as happy as he let on.

He quickly changed the subject by asking,"Hey, have you ever had one?" He grabbed another out of the box and tried to hand it to me.

"No I haven't. But I just ate." I pointed to the bowl in front of me, now empty,"Maybe later."

"Suit yourself." and he placed the pop-up back in the box.

"I'm gonna go and maybe find some blankets to sleep on and hopefully some pillows." I stood up, placed my bowl in the sink, and headed out into the room with the desk and moldy sandwich.
