Chapter 5: Fun

"What's exactly your reason for dragging me here? I could have gone here with Shiba-kun," Aya question Jesse who was sitting beside her on one area of the park as they watch the Cherry Blossom petals fall.

Aya wanted to go with Shiba since she'll enjoy the scenery more with him. But, Jesse forced her to come with him even though they both knew that Jesse's annoyed by her. Other reason, aside from forcing her, that Aya came was that she promised Takaki to be there for Jesse.

Jesse shrugged, "You know I have an image to keep, see? People are taking pictures... and since you promised that you'll help me, I'll make the most out of it, could you declare your promise again here?"

"I promise that I will help you in any way that I can," Aya said.

"And for the record, I'll remember that,"

Later that evening, Aya went to the konbini because they ran out of soya milk. She had to buy two boxes because Jesse was drinking them like water. When she was in front of their house, she saw the girl Jesse was always with in his room, just standing outside.

"Rika-san? Why don't you go inside? Jesse's just upstairs if you want," Aya told her but Rika smiled at her and shook her head. She saw the bag Aya was holding and looked back at her.

"Is it ok if you leave that here and come with me somewhere?" Rika asked.

"Uh... sure, I'll be back," Aya quickly went inside to kitchen and placed the milk in the fridge. She rushed back outside before Jesse would see her, "Where are we going?"

"Just a walk... I need to talk to you," Rika wallked ahead and Aya quickly followed to walk beside her, "I just noticed Jesse-kun's not throwing parties as much as before, did something happen? I'm worried..."

Aya suddenly looked at Rika, she's puzzled about what the girl said, "Aren't you his girlfriend...? I mean... you always sleep with him whenever there's a party,"

With that, Rika bursted out into laughter, "I'm most definitely not his girlfriend, I sleep with him in the same room but he sleeps on the floor and I use his bed. We never did anything sexual, aside from kissing but he wouldn't go further. I'm not numb, I know when a guy wants to do it or not... I'm just there to keep him company, he's lonely Aya-chan... and having you there's a great relief for me cause I know someone will watch over him,"

Aya stayed quiet to listen to Rika.

"I know he's not nice to you, he's not saying anything about it but I can see how you're avoiding him at home even though outside, you two have the image of close siblings. He usually have nightmares, that's why I stay with him when I can, but you see, I already have a boyfriend and I cannot do that anymore, and I want you to watch over him for me,"

"Eh?"

"I know he'll open up with you Aya-chan, I can see that you care for him, just don't give up even though he treats you badly. Jesse-kun is not bad, he's really nice. He helped me out before lots of times already. He may be showing you his dark side, but you're the only one that can see that side, that might be his real, hidden side. He may not realize it, but deep inside, he wants to trust you and this is probably his unconscious way of testing you,"

Aya chuckled, "It's funny cause you and Takaki Yuya-kun asked me to watch over him... I guess Jesse really needs someone, ne?"

"Really? Then that's good, Jesse-kun is more close to him, so he can probably help you more, but don't be a stranger if you need my help too okay? I just work at the restaurant beside the bakery where you work, you'll find me there,"

"Oh, I see, okay then,"

"And this may sound weird coming from me, but if you two weren't legally siblings, I'd root for the two of you," Rika smiled at Aya that made Aya blush.
