The Arena

Today is 9/11/2150.
The Daleks are choosing who will be in the arena this year and what challenges they shall throw in.
Tomorrow they will be announced in front of the whole world. I only have a 0.00001666666% chance of getting chosen.
Then again so does everyone else.
Although if your as stupid as I am you have more of a chance.
Some of the people who are chosen are chosen because they aren't useful to the Daleks. The can't mine ore farm or teach or drive so they are thrown in. Which is kinda sad when you think about it.
Others are being punished.

No one in my family has ever been in the games. So I have more of a chance.
I do however know people who have been in the games.

It's depressing when someone you know goes in and doesn't come out the same.

I should probably go back right now.
This is far too dangerous for me.
I could get exterminated.

Nope!

The Daleks don't really come down to Earth much apart from collection people for the arena and being in the arenas and emergencies. For emergencies they have a ground base.
It's in Cardiff.

I've only been a few times but I always hear the Daleks talking about a rift? What's a rift? I've asked around but no one knows.
Must be a spacey wacey thing.

I'm going to go into that building again.The Daleks have a few guards but that's about it. I suppose they think people will be too scared to approach so they don't have cameras or security or anything.

It's so spooky after dark. Because you know if you see a blue glow your dead.
The building has 2 entrances. I'm going in through the back.
When I get closer to the door I see that blue glow. Crap. I grab my toilet plunger an open the door and get inside.
I wonder if Daleks have night vision because there are no lights in this place.
I go further into the building. Then I hear the tortures sound of a Dalek.

" TOMMY SAMUELS, JESS O'BRIAN, JACOB BERRY, LILLY HANIGAN, WILLIAM SID, SOPHIA RILES, DAVID BLOW, MIKA DANNELS,
SAM RICHARDSON AND LUCY AROMAG WILL BE THE PAIRED COMPETITORS." The Dalek said.
Lucy Aromag is a good friend of mine and I might never see her again. Of all the people in the world they just had to choose her.

Why?

"WHO WILL BE THE OTHERS IN THE FIVE CHALLENGE?" one Dalek asked.

"JASON SMITH" The Dalek replied.
That's my name. Oh My Gosh I am going to die in a few days time my life is over.
Well I suppose I had it coming. Once a Pyro always a pyro. Not really but it's catchy.

"JOSHUA AUHSOJ, IRENE LEE, SIMON THOMAS AND NATASHA ADLIN WILL BE THE FINAL FIVE"

I ended up deciding to leave at that point.
I have a 20% chance of dying and a 81.66666667% chance of getting permanent injury if I make it out alive.

"You alright"Lucy asked me.
"Yes fine" I lied
"Ok.... Nerve racking isn't it?"
"What is?"
"The choosing tommorow"
"Oh" Well for me it is because I know Lucy are going to be chosen.
"Right that"
"So do you think either of us will be picked?"
"Yes, there's a good chance."
"How?"
"Well um the Daleks....... IWentToTheDalekBaseAndOverHeardThemSayingWhoWouldBePickedAndYouWerePickedForThePairFightAndIWasPickedForTheFiveFight" I just blurted out everything at once. You should have seen her face while I was saying it. Although after I finished she ran away crying.
"Lucy wait!" I called and ran after her but by the time I had got out of the house she had made her way up her house stairs.
Do you ever think that the universe just hates you? I do. If the universe liked us the Daleks wouldn't be here and Lucy wouldn't be upset with me.

Why me? Why did I have to go in the arena? Why did Lucy? Why did the Daleks have to come?

Tomorrow is the choosing.
