The Arena

Today's the Day.
We all gathered around the TV's in our homes and watched the Daleks make the announcements.
"WELCOME INFERIOR HUMANS TO THE CHOOSING. THE PAIRED COMPETITORS FOR THIS YEAR ARE:TOMMY SAMUELS, JESS O'BRIAN, JACOB BERRY, LILLY HANIGAN, WILLIAM SID, SOPHIA RILES, DAVID BLOW, MIKA DANNELS,
SAM RICHARDSON AND LUCY AROMAG. THE FIVE COMPETITORS ARE: JASON SMITH, JOSHUA AUHSOJ, IRENE LEE, SIMON THOMAS AND NATASHA ADLIN"

I got up as my family started crying and went to the door to find to Dalek puppets waiting to take me. I went with them not looking back at my family. I saw Lucy being escorted out on the other side of the street.
She gave me a death stare for yesterday.
I suppose I deserve it.

Dalek puppets look much like humans but they have an eye stalk out of there forehead and a Dalek gun out of their hand.

It's sad to think they used to be people.

I was taken to a jet and got on with Lucy. The Jet was covered in Dalekanium. Their choice of interior design I suppose.
Lucy sat at the back of the jet and I sat at the front. I looked for a way out but 2 Daleks were covering each exit.

Best not to risk it.

Lucy wouldn't look at me the whole trip. Why would she? She was about to die so why would she wanna look at my face?

We were being flown to the practise arena. The practise arena I think must have been a football stadium before the Daleks.The chairs we all different colours and the ground was grass.

The practise stadium was so the battles were interesting. The Daleks weren't amused when the battle was over quickly.
All the other competitors were already there.

Practising.

The five fighters were separate from to paired fighters. All the other fighters looked like they could actually win.

Same can't be said for the paired fighters.
The rumours must be true the Daleks put people who had attacked them in the five fight and randomly picked the paired from around the world.

Joshua Auhsoj was a tall looking kid with tattoos and red hair. When I say red I don't mean ginger I mean red. His last name was his first name backwards ad it was pronounced aaaww-sog.

Irene Lee was a really small pretty girl only about 16 ,like me while the others were 18, with a scar on her right cheek. she has dark hair and dark eyes.

Simon Thomas was a chubby guy. He had blonde hair and green eyes which stood out a little too much.

Natasha Adlin was a tall thin dark red head girl who looked like she could snap a log with her bare hands. She would be my toughest competition next to Joshua.

Then there was me, Jason Smith skinny dark haired boy who was only good at mixing flammable liquid with Daleks and matches. Basically I set the Dalek base on fire.

Best Day Ever!!!!!!!

They weren't to happy about that. I never got in trouble the Dalek just shot at me a couple of times. Nothing serious.

"Hello?" I looked up there was a tall blonde standing in front of me.

"Um.... hi?" I replied

It took me a while to notice she had a mini Dalek eye behind her fringe. She was a Dalek puppet. Kind of a shame, she looked pretty.

"So, Jason Smith, Burnt the Dalek base to the ground and has been found guilty if theft of information, overall

"How am I supposed to know, I do the tests the teachers take them away. Why don't you ask one of them?" I replied

"I will be keeping an eye on you" she said coldly. "The arena will have a few new features this year and it will take place after the paired fights" She turned and left me to myself.

Suddenly a girl tapped me on the shoulder and almost tripped her over.
"Sorry, you startled me" I apologised to her
"Whatever, I just came to tell you goodbye"
"Wha?"
"Your going to die in the arena, idiot"
"Is that a threat?"
"Possibly but out of everyone here you and Irene are going to die the soonest"
"Why is that?"
"Look at you" Then she poked me in the shoulder and left.

Man are all the girls here uptight? I'm going to live past the first 2 deaths just to annoy her.

I looked around at the other competitors, all training except Irene. Irene was sitting down at a bench table reading. I went over to her and asked
"what are you reading?"
It took her some time to answer. I didn't really expect her to answer. Why would she give away her secrets to me? Eventually she did.
"It's a survival book"
"Why would you need that?"
"Because their changing the arena this year to an environment. I want to know how to survive in any environment"
"Ok... I didn't know that" I sat down next to her leaned over and asked her "What did you do to get in the arena?"
"I hacked the Daleks hive mind" She whispered to me "you?"
"I set there base on fire"
"How?"
" I went up to the building and poured a line of petrol from the building to somewhere I couldn't be spotted and lit it up"
"Nice, anyone you know here?"
"Only in the paired fights, a girl named Lucy, she lives across the street from me"
"Oh well let's hope she wins"
"Yeah, what about you?"
"No But Tommy Sammuels and I caught the plane from America"
"Ok... so what kind of environment is it?"
"I don't know so I'm studying all of them"
"Right"
"Here take this"
She passed me a book.
