The Arena

Finally after three hours studying with Irene it's time to go to our rooms. I shared a room with Joshua Auhsoj. I had a shower and went to sleep.
Well.
I tried to.
Joshua spent 20 minuets doing push ups. You could hear him grunting from next door. I know that because next door came in and started to complain. Then finally when he went to bed he snores.
So very loudly.
I think I only got 3 hours sleep.
Today is the very first paired battle, Tommy Samuels and Jacob Berry were going to fight. One of them was going to die.
Tommy was a small scrawny kid, I kinda hoped he had a trick up his sleeve because I don't think he would make it past 1 minute.

Jacob on the other hand was the complete opposite tall,chubby he had blonde hair while tommy had brown.

At 6:00 we were called for breakfast. It wast butter toast.
So good!
I can't afford that at home. It is too expensive. Ooozing melting butter over perfectly cooked crispy toast.
Delicious!
Anyway after breakfast we were taken to the viewing room. The viewing room was where other competitors watched the people in the arena fight. It was compulsory to watch. How that made it more entertaining for the Daleks I will never know but whatever.

The arena the pairs were fighting in was oval shaped with weapons hung on the outside. Jacob and Tommy stood about 10 metres from each other. The weapons were coloured red and blue. Red for Jacob and Blue for tommy.

Then the big boss Dalek step- I mean glided forward to announce the games
"WELCOME TO THE FIRST PAIRING BATTLE. JACOB BERRY AND TOMMY SAMUELS WILL FIGHT IN THE ARENA UNTILL ONE DIES. THE RULES ARE:
NO ESCAPING THE ARENA
YOU MUST FIGHT UNTILL THERE IS ONLY ONE PERSON ALIVE
YOU MUST NOT START UNTILL THE SIREN SOUNDS
JACOB IS WEARING THE RED SUIT WITH A 1 AND TOMMY IS WEARING THE BLUE SUIT WITH A 1
THE BATTLE WILL BEGIN IN

The siren sounded and Jacob ran for the sword. I had seen him in practice, he had such a bad aim so a gun was out but he had a good arm so the sword was logical.
Tommy went for the gun. Jacob lunged at Tommy while he was still firing the gun. Tommy continelsy fired the gun untill he was out and had to go back for another gun. Jacob continued to chase him but Tommy got to the gun first then turned around and shot Jacob twice in the stomach. Another siren sounded and Tommy was escorted out of the arena.
I couldn't believe how fast it was over.

"CONGRATULATIONS TO TOMMY SAMUELS THE SURVIVER OF THE FIRST PAIR FIGHT OF 2150"

Tommy Samuels had won the Arena which means if Irene wins they will be able to go back to America together.

We were escorted back to the training arena while the other paired fighters went back to their rooms.

"Wanna do some physical training today?"I asked Irene
"Why mental training too much for your tiny mind?" She teased
"Nope, but I'm starting to wonder whether your scared of doing physical training"
"Oh your on, let's start with gun shooting whoever gets closest to the centre .... gets the others desert tonight"
"Alright prepare to go hungry"
Me and Irene went over to the range and started firing. Irene hit just outside the centre ring.

I fired and hit dead centre. Irene stared at me in shock. "Mmmmm ice cream" I teased
"Alright show off no need to rub it in" she said back.
