It's been a year since the whole Haley incident. And Elejah have been going from strength to strength. Elena was getting ready when she got a phone call from Matt Shade. The guy that helped Elijah and her the year before. Elena of course answered the phone call. "Matt. - hey long time no speak. - tonight I can't. - yes I'm still with Elijah. - everything is good. - tomorrow? - of course. - see you then." Elena then threw her phone onto the bed. And left it there. As she went to the door and saw Elijah. Elena smiled. "Hey Elijah." Elena spoke. "Hey yourself. - May I say you look magnificent." Elijah spoke.

Rebekah sat down. She was feeling low. She had just broken up with her boyfriend. Marcel. Two days before they were to get married. "Hey. - you'll find someone. - trust me" Finn spoke. "Ha. - like hell I will. - I can't seem to find my Prince Charming." Rebekah was so defeated. Just how Elijah was the year before hand. Finn now got up shook his head. Muttering here we go again. Rebekah heard that but kept quite.
At the end of the night. Elijah walked Elena home. He couldn't stay the night as he had an early start. So they made plans for two days time. Elijah smiled. Elena smiled.

"What? Why?" Elena couldn't understand. "You cheated on me with Matt Shade." Elijah spoke. "I didn't. - all we did was talk." Elena now spoke. "Talk? About what?" Elijah asks. "About his love for Angie. - he is madly in love with her." Elena now spoke. Elijah shook his head. And walked off.
Elena stood there shocked. "But I love you Elijah." Elena now cried. She didn't want this to be over. She was a fool. A fool that she didn't tell him. She was a fool for meeting up with Matt Shade.
"Elena. - thanks for coming." Matt spoke. "Matt. - it's good to see you. - anytime. - how can I help?" Elena now smiled. "Angie. - I've fallen for her. - hard. - and I don't know what to do." Matt spoke. Elena clapped her hands she was excited she could tell a year ago. That Matt loves Angie. And Angie loves Matt. "Tell her. - I think she feels the same. - Matt you have nothing to lose." Elena spoke. "But what about our working relationship?" Matt now asks. "You could totally work out. - you won't know unless you try." Matt spoke.
The next few days was awful. Elena got slapped by Rebekah for breaking Elijah's heart. So Elena wanted a break from New Orleans. She going to go to visit Jeremy in New York. Where he found some friends. One of Jeremy's friends was the guy she was accused of cheating on Elijah with. Matt Shade. The one guy she doesn't want to see anytime soon. But she will have to as Matt and Jeremy might be hanging out together. Elena shook her head as she was packing. How did everything go so wrong? Elena thought to herself. I need this. I need to clear my mind. Was another thought.
