Also the way I'm doing the gender thing, last time ink was a boy, this time inks a girl. Just so I don't repeat the issue in the last book.Description: Ever since they were teenagers Ink has had a drinking problem. Error tries helping her but it proves difficult.
Ink POV
Ugh. This is one of my worst hangovers. I feel like my head is about to explode.
Error just walked into the house without knocking. Luckily Dream and Blue were out.
"Hey Inky, how are you...?" He asked.
"Error I'm not gonna lie I feel like complete shit." I told him.
"Yeah. I thought so. I told you to stop drinking at the third but you said 'fuck you' and then kissed me."
"Sounds about right- ok. Why are you here?" I asked.
He sat by me and handed me a water bottle.
"I'm here to take care of you. You clearly can't do that alone." He answered.
I groaned. I'd argue with him but he's kind of right.
"Thought you hated me." I said.
He looked at me and sighed.
"I did. But, that was before I knew you." He replied.
I drank the water and went to the kitchen. Great. Dream took the vodka.
I have no alcohol and Grillbys doesn't open for another hour.
Error stayed with me as I drew and he watched.
"Who is that?" He asked.
"Just a character." I said.
After an hour passed we walked to Grillby's.
"Hey Grillbz. I'll take the usual." I said.
"Ink. No. You're taking a break from alcohol. I'm going to help you."
"You say that like I have a problem."
Dream sat by us.
"That's because you do." He said.
I rolled my eyes.Error POV
Ink may not know it but she needs to get rid of this addiction. I mean it's been like this for six years.
I know I acted like I hated her but now I don't.
I want to help her now. But she does t seem to want help.
Ink doesn't have a choice though. We went back to their house and I talked to Dream about it.
He seemed skeptical but agreed to help me. Blue did to when he got back.
We sat Ink down and she did not seem happy.
"Ok Ink, we want you to know that we're just worried about you." Dream said.
"...so?" Ink said.
"We all think that maybe... you should stop drinking." I said.
"Fuck you. I'll do what I want."
"Ink please. We know it won't be over night but we're here to help you!" Blue said.
Ink groaned and rolled her eyes.
"Please just let us help you get this problem solved." I begged.
She looked at me. Her expression softened and she took a deep breath.
"Fine. Maaaaybe it is a problem." She admitted. "Just don't put me in rehab."
"No promises." Dream said.
That made Ink uneasy.
"Dream don't scare her. We won't take you to rehab unless it's absolutely necessary." I told her.
She nodded.Ink POV
It's been a few months since then. They've actually helped me a lot and Error and I have gotten... closer you could say.
We've made our relationship official.
We agreed I get one drink a night two on holidays and my birthday.
One morning though I got a call from Dream.
"Hey Dream."
"Ink get to Sci's. Right now." He said.
I quickly got to Sci's to find that Error was severely hurt after a battle. I just started sobbing there and then.
Blue hugged me.
"Oh Ink I...I'm so sorry..." he said.
I just screamed and cried. Why when everything seemed to be going good, did it have to go horribly.
I stayed with him all night. All day. He wasn't waking up.
I was there the moment he dusted. I was so...shocked. Scared. Sad. Angry.
I blamed myself. If I was there I... I could've stopped him from fighting. Or at least it'd be me instead of him. Stars I wish it were.
Dream POV
I went to check on Ink the day after Error died. Blue and I were absolutely horrified to see bottles, shelves of bottles on the floor.
She'd drank all of them. Every last drop. By the time we found her it was to late.
She had died. Alcohol poisoning.
Ugh we shouldn't have left her. I guess that's what we get though. Letting her care about that destroyer. Trusting him. This is his fault.
I started crying.
She's dead because of him!
Blue tried to tell me otherwise but I didn't want to listen. Our best friend is dead.
