They both walked down the stairs, their footsteps the only sound that could be heard. Chituru went straight to the parlour and sat down on the couch, stretching out as he picked up the remote and casually flicked through the channels. Tim busied himself in the kitchen. The spaghetti and sauce were already cold after being left in the microwave for so long. He set the timer on 5 minutes and then went to the parlour to join Chituru on the couch.
The sound of the news filled the room as Chituru was lost in thought, wondering if his friend had finally gone stark raving mad due to boredom, Tim on the other hand, had his mind stuck on the mysterious lady he can swear on his life was with him in this very parlour.
The sound of the doorbell made them both jump in surprise. Tim recovered first and eagerly rushed to the door, barely able to contain his excitement only to open the door to see the face of Chioma. His face fell.

'Oh, it's you'. Then he walked back to the couch to join Chituru. Chioma was confused.
'Are you hiding any friend we don't know about?' She said gesturing towards herself and Chituru.
'Don't take it personally Chi', Chituru said before Tim could reply, '...he's just missing his "dream girl".'

Chioma eyes became as wide as a fish.

'Oh my god, oh my god, oh my god! Issalie! Tim, so you can dream?! I've always seen you as an unfeeling robot incapable of human emotions!'
'She was real. She is real', Tim muttered.
'As real as Thor in the Avengers abi?' Chituru mocked. Chioma laughed.
'Wait wait wait, abeg, this gist is half, give me the full gist na'. Chioma half begged, half laughed.
'I even met the gist halfway o! I came here to drag him out and the next thing I know, Oga is forming Superman about to fly to save damsel in distress from Verandah railing o!'

Chituru went as far as jumping up and down to describe the situation. Chioma couldn't hold it anymore, she was rolling on the floor, tears streaming down her face, holding her belly as she laughed her heart out. Tim couldn't say anything.

'Chai Chituru, you're wicked! This sweet gist was going down and you didn't even say let you call me'. She said, wiping the tears off her face when she could finally make a coherent sentence.
'It's not my fault na, I didn't want to make our friend feel any more stupid, but I'm glad you came, I needed someone to laugh with me!'
'Later now they'll say, his village people are at work!' Chioma added and they went into another bout of laughter.

Refusing to show how much their words annoyed him, Tim stood up and walked calmly up the stairs.

'Don't go too far o! Before dream girl will make you jump from roof this time!'

The laughter continued as Tim, without looking back, kept walking till he got to his room.
