The show scared him. He didnt think it would, he was under the impression that this was supposed to make him laugh. But for Bruce, it just brought out some very unwanted fears.

"Can we leave now Mom?" young Bruce Wayne asked his mother, Martha. Martha looked at her husband, Bruce's father, Thomas with urgency.

He replied, "Yes. Lets go Bruce." He grabbed his mother's hand, and they walked out of the theater. Thomas opened the front door for his wife and child, like the gentleman he was. He had always been kind, no matter to whom he was communicating with. Him and his family were known for their kindness, even though they had an abundance of money.

Thomas walked to the payphone next to the theater, put in a quarter, and dialed the numbers of the Wayne family mansion. An old voice answered with "Hello, Wanye residence."

Alfred Pennyworth, the Wayne family butler, had been around years before Bruce was even born. He was a good butler to them, even though at moments he seemed distant. They knew if anything was to ever happen, that Alfred would be there for them.

"Alfred, it's Thomas. Would you bring the car to the Monarch Theater?" Thomas said to his butler.

"Show's over already Master Wayne?" Their faithful butler replied with curiosity.

"No, we... left early," Thomas commented as he looked at Martha.

"Ill be there soon Master Wayne."

With that, Thomas Wayne hung up the phone. "Let's go through that alley over there. The other end leads to where Alfred dropped us off. He'll be looking for us there."

"But honey, Bruce is scared. Let's just go around on the main road." Martha said.

"Its a shortcut. It won't take long Martha."

Bruce looked at his mother, and she replied, "Okay, but let's hurry." Bruce wasn't the biggest fan of the dark as of late.

The alley was dark, only lit by the dim light of a street lamp in the alley. It was silent, the only noise was the footsteps of the Wayne family. Until they heard the soft tapping of another pair of footsteps. A dark figure in the distance emerged, which appeared to be a man. He was wearing a shorter version of a trench coat and a dark beanie.

The figure's walking trajectory was directly in line with Bruce and his parents'. He was walking fast, and eventually got close enough for both the Waynes and the man to stop in front of each other.

The man quickly pulled out a gun, and yelled "All your money! Give me everything!" He was pointing the gun at Bruce's family. Bruce instantly began sweating.

"You dont have to do this sir," Thomas said as he handed the theif his gold pocketwatch. Martha was holding on to Bruce, scared for her son's life. The theif looked at Martha with wicked intentions.

"The pearls,"he said, "hand 'em over lady." He then reached for Martha's pearl necklace wrapped around her neck. Out of instinct, Thomas went to defend his wife, and proceeded to attempt to grab the assailants hand. The gunman turned quickly, pointed the gun at the current CEO of Wayne Interprises, and pulled the trigger.

The shot rang through the alley as Martha yelled, "Thomas! No!" This was only to be followed by another gunshot. This one hit Martha Wayne. Both lying dead on the alley ground, the gunman left.

Bruce broke. Inside and out. His parents were gone. And he was all by himself. He knelt down, and sobbed as he heard police sirens getting louder.
