Until we Meet Again

I've been told that I'm too intense
That I breathe too deeply
Love too quickly
Cry too fiercely

I wouldn't oppose

The day we first met
I said you were lovely
chose you as my ocean

A life later, the next time we first met
All eyes and hands
I slipped into a delusional high
Convinced myself I'd touched my future

The third time we first met
I had been falling
Writhing with emotion
Restless
Until we rested

Now my eyes are heavy on
My body is a cage for yours
Decaying and exposed
The warmth festers
hours feel endless to me
Until we meet again
