I know all your lies
I know where you keep 'em

The sun sucked out all her grimness.

The feeling of it against her skin was like the relief you felt on your burnt skin when applying balm. Or, to be more true to her nature the euphoria when the taste of fresh blood washed away the burning sensation in her throat after satisfying hunger.

Now that the monster was away she could appreciate the beauty in the Beast's castle. The room she was given was beautiful and spacious, everything from the sheets to the furniture was in bright earth colors. Out of all, the thing she enjoyed the most was balcony. It was huge and spacious, painted in the color of the sun when it sets slowly to the ocean. She was obsessed with sunsets now, ever since she watched one with Klaus.

Klaus.

The man who had caused her loved ones so much pain was now coloring her world in the brightest colors. The man who only used black pencil, now filling his canvas with all sorts of shades and hues.

She sighed leaning back on her chair as she looked over to the gate from where he had left. She could try to leave but she would not be able to make it two steps out of the front gate before someone caught her. The place was swarming with old vampires and she knew none of them would risk beheading for her sake.

Her mind went back to how much he had changed ever since they stepped foot in New Orleans. It wasn't like she didn't know who he was before, or she thought the Klaus she saw that night in the small pub in Mexico would last forever. But the abrupt change in him was too unexpected for her to comprehend even if it was somewhat expected.

She threw her head back in the chair wondering how much time had passed since he left. She played the role of an unfazed Queen well, when being watched by the guards, but the shock from his sudden cruelty still remained.

She remembered the night before they left, his sincere smile dancing behind her closed eyes.

To her disappointment, she wondered when that would happen again. Longing for it without realizing it. It was addictive. He was addictive. The more he showed her his real self the more she craved.

And the bastard knew that.

Sea waves crushed on the golden shore as the tide rose. A passing ship being responsible for the sudden rush of water and the panic people rushing around to grab their sandals before the white foam could steal them away.

Caroline sipped her drink, ignoring everything but the scenery and the people running around to save their belonging from what seems to be nature's revenge.

She could feel Klaus' eyes on her but ignored it for as long as she could. She hadn't wanted to talk about last night and he had surprisingly given her the time and space she'd asked him. Furthermore, he even let her choose where she wanted to go and without giving it much thought they choose the beach bar near the hotel.
