They brought strangers into the Tower.

Four guys and a girl.

People.

Oh my gosh, I freaked out and now my heart won't stop racing. I can't calm down. Flash backs drag me back to Asgard. I think someone's calling my therapist. Shoot. I really don't want to talk to her today. I don't want to talk to anyone. I just want to stay in my room, and barricade the door so no one can come in. If I do, dad and the others will break down the door. That won't be good.

I can't be around strangers. Not yet.

I thought they knew this! I told them I'm not doing good around strange people! They don't understand. They can't understand. No one can understand.

I need time. I don't need strange people.

I need time.

Earlier:

No one's P.O.V.

Aura's face turns white as she walks into the living room to see four guys and a girl sitting and laughing with the Avengers and their children. She'd been in her room the whole day, trying to catch up on some math she missed. She'd wandered out of her when she heard some strange laughing and because she was hungry.

The Avengers had thought she improved and she would be fine with strangers as long as she wasn't left in the same room with them. Her therapist had told them to start introducing her to people again. They figured this was a time to do so. She even told them she was about ready to meet people again.

No one had thought of the possibility that maybe Aura was lying in order to get out of her weekly therapy appointments. They had thought she'd grown accustomed to the therapist and enjoyed going to talking to someone.

None of them were prepared for her to freak out and run out of the room, dropping her apple and water bottle in the process.

Aura races down the hall, shutting her door with a racing heart. Light tears run down her face at memories of strangers doing different things to her. She didn't want to go through that again.

Chase bolts out of his seat, rushing after her, glaring at his dad and the other adults who had agreed to this. He knew she wasn't ready. He knew Aura was still afraid. He knew she wasn't up to this. He had tried to tell the others to wait a while, but they hadn't listened to him. Well, no one besides Bruce. When the men had gotten to the Tower, his dad had forced him into conversation with everyone.

It had only been a few minutes after the new people had arrived that Aura had come out of her room. The Avengers were planning on easing her into meeting them, but she came out before they could explain.

The four new guys and the girl, the new recruits to the Avengers, look around in confusion, their smiles dropping slightly. What happened? They all asked themselves that question in different forms.

Loki hurries after his daughter and Chase, the feeling of guilt tearing at him with every step. It was too soon. He should've listened to Chase.

" Did we, did we do something? " The youngest male from the new group of people, Peter, asks feeling very guilty.

Mia shakes her head. " No. It's not you. Aura's...she's the girl we told you about earlier...she's not doing well. She's...well...you know...she's scared. It isn't your guys' fault at all. "

" She's....oh my. " Wanda, the new girl puts her hand to her mouth. Her thoughts race back to what the Avengers had shared with them before they had arrived.

The five feel badly about scaring her and all look down at their feet,  not sure about what's going to happen.

" Don't worry. " Clayton sighs. " Aura'll come around. Once you get to know her, you'll all love her. She's a great girl. She just needs some time. She'll come around. " Clayton wasn't completely sure of his words. He was hoping she'd come around. Aura was one of his best friends. She was like another sister to him.

It killed them all to see her hurt and fear.
