Road trip- Reddie

Part 22

*Richie's POV*

When my head reaches the surface, I can't find Eddie, I obviously start to freak out. The lake is clear so I can see underwater. I spot Eddie's body start to sink further and further under the water. I swim as fast as I can to reach Eddie's body. I grab his small hand before he gets stuck in the mud at the bottom of the lake. his eyes are closed but his heart is still beating, when we get to the shore. I start CPR on him.

"Come on, Eds," I whisper, he starts to cough up water.

"Eddie! I'm sorry about tipping the boat!" I tell him.

"It wasn't your fault, for some reason, my arms and legs wouldn't let me swim up to the surface. Thank you for not leaving me," Eddie whispers.

"I would never," I insist. I can tell he's freezing even though it's 80 degrees outside. I grab his towel, I drape the towel over Eddie after I order him to take his soaking wet clothes off. I wrap my arms around him.

"You warming up, Baby?" I ask.

"Yeah. Were you having fun? I don't want to ruin,"

"Edward Frank Kaspbrak, you will never ruin anything for me. You are the love of my life and I'm in love with you!" I yell. Eddie is taken back and I can see his doe eyes start to fill with tears.

"I'm so sorry, Baby. I didn't mean to make you cry," I whisper. Eddie places his pointer finger over my lips to shut me up.

"I was going to cry happy tears, idiot. I feel the same way about you," Eddie whispers. I can't stop smiling after. When we get back to the cabin, there is a voice message from Sonia. I play it for Eddie.

(Italics is voice message)

"Eddie-Bear, this is Mommy. I'm so sorry for what I said when I found out about you and Richie. I've been thinking about it lately and I do accept you. I get it if you don't want to come back home, call me back with your desicion.
