Road trip- Reddie

Part 32

"I got accepted to Northwestern Univerity."

I see Eddie's face light up, he smiles ear to ear. He knows Northwestern University is my dream school.

"Chee, that's great!" Eddie exclaims. Eddie hasn't gotten accepted anywhere, he applied to Northwestern and University of Chicago but he hasn't gotten an acceptance letter back yet. The rest of the night we don't talk about anything related to school, Sonia comes to pick Eddie and me up.

"Eddie, a letter from Northwestern came for you," Sonia tells Eddie. Eddie looks at me and I let him lay on my lap while I play with his hair.

"Richie, did you get accepted to Northwestern?" Sonia asks me.

"Yeah, Mike dropped the letter off for me yesterday," I tell her.

"That's great!" She exclaims. When we get home, Eddie and I run inside to the kitchen table, where the letter is sitting. Sonia has her camera out, videotaping it all.

"No matter what the letter says, I still love you Eds," I whisper. Eddie smiles.

"And no matter what it says you're going to Northwestern," Eddie scolds. Eddie carefully tears open the letter, careful to not rip anything. He takes the letter out, he applied for a scholarship as well.

"Dear Edward Kaspbrak, I would like to inform you that you'll be apart of the graduating class of 2000! See you in the fall with a full-ride scholarship!" Eddie reads, his voice getting louder with every word. I pick Eddie up, twirling him around. I start to sob myself, I don't have to leave the love of my life. After the excitement is over, Eddie and I go to his room.

"Let's take a shower," I state.

"Together?" Eddie asks.

"Only if you want to," I tell him.

"No, I want to."

Eddie and I start to get undressed, we just stare at each other for about 10 minutes until Eddie comes over to me and kisses.

"You're so beautiful," I whisper into his ear. Eddie smiles, Eddie and I both have lost our virginity to each other but the moment was full of lust, I never really looked at him. I turn on the shower warm enough to not burn our skin. I get in after Eddie, I wash his hair, and body, he does the same for me. Eddie off the shower, he writes, 'I love you, Richie,' on the glass doors that have steamed up. I sit down in the corner of the shower, I hold my arms out for Eddie is climb into. He sits in between my legs.

"Are you happy with me?" I ask him.

"Of course I am. If I wasn't Inwouldn't be with you. Are you happy with me?" Eddie responds.

"Obviously, I was scared we would have to split up because one of us wouldn't get accepted in college," I explain. Eddie just nods, we talk about everything and anything until Eddie gets cold.

"We should get dressed, I mean we're sitting on the floor of your shower naked," I laugh. I kiss Eddie and I hand him one of my hoodies.

"Richie, Mike's here for you!" Sonia calls from downstairs. I run downstairs, thinking somethign is wrong.

"Richie, you have to come home. Mom has to tell you something," Mike tells me.

"Mike,I'm sorry. I have no aspiration to see that woman," I say.

"You don't have to stay. Eddie can come as well She just wants to tell you something."

Eddie, Mike, and I walk back to my old house. I still have an eerie feeling going into the house, I take Eddie's hand unknowingly.

"Richard, thank you for coming. I'm sorry for everything I've done, I've kicked your father out. You can stay here or stay at Eddie's. I'm going to try and change myself because I'm pregnant."
