Shock Troopers

Chapter 11

(Zeta PoV)

We had made it back to the first wall, about two hours later. We kept on checking in every ten minutes, so they know we are safe. We were slowly making our way towards our Safe area. A massive locked gate.

The gate started Opening slowly. That's when we heard multiple Wails. "Get ready for a fight." Jerome said, "Multiple Hostiles closing in, 30 Low level infected and 3 High level infected, Infectors." Isabel informed. We turned and saw the high-level infected barrelling towards us. "Douglas, focus on the high levels. Jerome, we are taking out the low levels." I ordered. I heard the Minigun start up and heard some auto turrets start opening fire behind us.

We were doing pretty well, till a new infected type appeared. It was quite big, Spotted by the Snipers first. But it didn't go down.

"Douglas, I need everything you have on that fucker right now." I ordered, he was already shooting it, ripping it apart with every bullet, however it pretty much reformed itself every time.

But I noticed a week point. A yellow blob in the middle of its head, none of the others have that. So, I decided to shoot it. One shot from my stanchion Rifle obliterated that point. It soon started to fall apart, before it was on the ground. Finally, dead.

We still had the low level infected to deal with, But now the gate was opened we also had had some Hellbringers role out with their Flamethrowers. Scorching them all. We al moved back into the Safe area and the Gates slammed closed.

"That was a hard fight." I informed, panting from the running we all did. "Yeah, could have picked a better time to come back Zeta." One of the Hellbringers joked. I patted him on his back and walked into the Decontamination area. Once we were all finished, we moved over towards the Comm tent.

"[Got some news on that bunker?]" I heard Six aske as soon as we entered, she was mid meeting and we didn't know. "[That debrief can wait. You are mid meeting.]" I informed, "[No, this can wait. Give me every detail.]" She ordered. I sat down and started speaking.

"[Well, it was confirmed it was a Mask base. However, when we arrived, they were all dead, ripped apart and gutted. Same with the Sentinel members. They weren't fighting each other, the AA guns were automatic, so they auto locked on to the Condor and downed it once it got too close to the area the Masks had quarantined. There was a nest down there, biggest one we have ever seen. So, we torched the place using the Gas they were pumping in and a grenade. However, we will need a bigger squad to go down there and make sure Everything is dead before that nest come back. It looked like a central hub for the infected.]" I informed.

"[That massive scream that sent the entire Island on high alert happened once we torched that nest. We thought it was just the nest but when Marius informed us that the entire island heard it, we were honestly quite confused.]" I finished.

"[Understood, once you are back, we can have a proper debrief, but right now you are staying at that wall till the lockdown is lifted. Shouldn't be too long.]" She explained, "[Ok Director, I'll see you later then.]" I Said, leaving the Tent. I went towards the Main armoury, seeing Douglas and Jerome sat there, talking to each other.

"So, I'd say that was a semi-successful mission." Jerome said once I appeared. "Semi being the key word there. We are stuck here for a bit till the Lockdown is lifted, so we might as well get comfy. I said, we moved towards the Airfield, since behind that is the Barracks. We saw a Helicopter land which confused us as every bird should be downed.

The doors opened and we saw Alice onboard. "We are here to pick up 3 Dickheads." She joked, "That'd be us." Douglas joked jumping onboard. "I thought the island was still on lockdown." I said, "It is, but we are allowed to ferry things from wall to wall. So that's what we are doing." Alice said as she closed the door. The ride back was quiet, As me, Douglas and Jerome were quite tired from the fights we had. And the walk. Once we landed, we had the full debrief to give to six. So me, Doug and Jerome walked to Six's office.
