SharkKit went to sleep happily. She could barely even sleep knowing she would be an apprentice the next morning. However, because of how much she was playing and "training" that day, she was pretty tired out. Her mind quickly went worried when she realized she was in the same reoccurring dream she's had many times in the past moon. She sat below the highrock, looking up at SpottedStar sitting with his back turned. She was prepared for what he would say as he turned around this time, as he would usually turn around and say something, horrified. This time, he simply turned slowly with a blank expression on his face, and whispered, "She's the cat." DarkFlower stood up, but instead of saying "SharkKit what have you done?" as usual, she said "SharkPaw, you're the cat." SharkKit was concerned by how "real" the dream felt. Her mother had the same horrified expression on her face as usual, but her words felt more relaxed. Suddenly the clan began chanting "The cat." creepily in unison. Thunder started to boom in the sky and storm clouds moved in as they chanted. SharkKit closed her eyes shut in fear, but when she opened them again, instead of waking up, she found herself sitting by the thunderpath. "What is this?" she wondered out loud. Just afterwards, a monster zoomed past. "A monster?" she gasped. After the monster passed, she noticed a cat that had been hidden behind it but was now standing on the other side of the thunderpath. "Indeed it is." she said. SharkKit noticed the cat had stars in her fur. "Starclan..." she whispered in surprise. The cat smiled, then walking across the thunderpath over to her. "My name is VioletClaw." the starclan cat meowed calmly. Still scared, SharkKit hesitantly stepped closer to her. "W-why am I here?" she stuttered. "Am I dead..." VioletClaw stepped closer to her. "No." she mewed. "You're the cat, SharkKit." SharkKit stiffened. "How do you know my name? And what does that mean?" VioletClaw took a pawstep back, onto the thunderpath. "What runs on the thunderpath?" SharkKit thought for a moment. "Monsters." VioletClaw nodded, still smiling. "How do you know that?" SharkKit thought again. "I...I can't remember." she meowed, worried. "You possess wisdom that some leaders don't have. SharkKit's ears perked. "Me? I'm just some kit-" VioletClaw cut her off. "No no no. SharkKit, you are a warrior cat. You will rise. As a warrior of Starclan, I give you this message through a dream to guide you through your troubles. Something bad is coming, and the forest needs you." SharkKit didn't know what to say. "What can I do?" she asked. VioletClaw padded towards her, and touched her nose to the confused and worried Kit's forehead. "Time will tell." she mewed. SharkKit's vision suddenly went black. All she heard was VioletClaw's voice saying "Don't forget me." SharkKit woke up. "DarkFlower!" she gasped. "I-I had this crazy dream and it said I was the cat and I was going to rise or something! This cat, this starclan cat name VioletClaw, she said I-" "Slow down, slow down." DarkFlower mewed, worried. "A starclan cat said you were what?" SharkKit relaxed a little. "She said I was 'the cat' and that I was going to rise. She said something bad was coming, we have to tell SpottedStar!" DarkFlower looked shocked. More than SharkKit was expecting. "Stay here, SharkKit. Stay right here until your ceremony." Confused, SharkKit nodded and stayed where she was, thinking about what happened in the dream and what it could've meant.
DarkFlower pushed her way through the other cats crowded in the clearing. "SpottedStar!" she yowled. "SpottedStar!" Her leader was sitting near his den, watching the apprentices begin their morning training. "SpottedStar. I must speak to you privately." she meowed. SpottedStar looked concerned. "Um, okay. Come into my den." DarkFlower followed SpottedStar into his den below the highrock. "Well?" he asked, sitting down. DarkFlower sighed. "SharkKit woke up saying something about a Starclan cat visiting her, saying she was 'the cat.' and that she would 'rise.'" SpottedStar's ears flattened. "You don't think-" DarkFlower lowered her head. "I think I understand the prophecy now. The group of four clans are my kits. SharkKit is the smallest. She will rise and save the clan that matters most." SpottedStar looked as if he was hiding something from her. "Did you bring up the prophecy when you went to speak with Starclan?" she asked. SpottedStar sighed. "That was why I went." "What?" DarkFlower gasped. "I wanted to know if something bad was to happen to Shadowclan. VelvetFang said that the clan that matters most might not be Shadowclan. But she also said that if it isn't, clans that don't need to be saved don't have to worry about bad things happening to them." SpottedStar explained. DarkFlower didn't know what to say. "Well, should we-" SpottedStar shook his head. "I think Starclan wants SharkKit to handle most of this herself now. I will tell CharmTail after her ceremony. Which should be being held right about now." DarkFlower nodded. "Let's get to it then."
